mini beast Project: Stock To Beast!!!
MiNi Beast replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
raining some outside so messed around in the shop today. I had pulled the drop pitman arm from the steering box, now to find a flatter arm to use. But messed around with a overhead XJ console I had picked up a few weeks ago, wanted a place for my sunglasses and a better dome light that I can have to actually work when I needed it to and be able to not have to worry about it when I pull the doors. So picked up a set of rocker switches from a buddy and integrated them in the overhead and I like the way it turned out. -
modded and installed a XJ overhead console in the MJ. :D

$#!& you not, my buddy is a garage door installer, and he jokes that any rig that makes it out of his shop has something on it from his garage doors. And well my seats are bolted in using garage door bolts, they have a small shoulder and them and worked perfect, lol and the corners are held on by track bolts, have a flat side with a knurl on them, mush like a wheel stud and just reached up between the bed sides and tightened the nut down and that be it. Again works great and nothing fancy and cost was a great savings that was had. -

joints are the same size. It was in the late 95, more so 96+ for the bigger 297 joints.

they not the tits, 3 link is the tits. yes is is a great way to run long arms, they work very well and serve their purpose. pretty much common sense when it comes to these. place your axle where you want it, measure back to frame mounts for lowers, then just set pinion where you want it, then measure from axle mount to the lca, make a small triangle, uppers just keep the axle from rotating. ummm yeah then take in account when measure what you will use for ends and go from there. most use 1.5" to 2" for lowers and yeah similar for uppers varying on what you use on lca. -
Track Bar knocking.....
MiNi Beast replied to jeep_freek88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
can still use a stock replacement and after lift it just made the going bad one go bad faster. mine did the same. if anything you would end up just needing to drill a new hole 1/2 to the drivers side from original trac bar mount hol on axle, not needed by all means, but can be done if need be. Just get your self a stock one or for the same money you could get an adjustable one from Rusty's or something if wanted to add more lift later or something. i vote for stocker. -

I should also point out my leading factor on a cell is getting more fuel capacity. I only get 200miles to a tank currently and want/need more, or I will have to bring jerry cans for some adventures 200 miles?what size tank?stockers are 23gal in a longbed right? yeah 200 miles is about right for his setup, I be happy to get that with mine :clapping: -

thats in the recent plans for add ons on mine, the gas tank skid, just finished my rear corners. how did you tie in the rear rocker slides, just all on the bumper and bolt on bumper or weld to the frame for reinforcement? A pic maybe if you could, trying to figure how to add a tube under my corner guards with out going up out or past them like you have. which i do in deed like, but bed coming off later so not trying to get to carried away with the tube now. -

thanks man. got the rear bumper on and bolted up and painted. front 1/4" wheel spacers installed, steering test fitted, not happy with it but it will hold me over for now, will end up running 1.5" dom and bungs and call it a damn day. So just have to pick up the rest of the brake parts and install and hope it works out. Rear driveshaft was made up today as well. Be adding a sye later so will get new shaft then as well. Also front shocks installed as well. -

some small progress today.... my rear bumper that Shortiron had made up for me, all in a days work he says, lol. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. And will look good when he ties in the corner guards. -
