  1. my sis and my nephew taking a break from shopping:
  2. try quoting their post and looking at how the info is entered.
  3. yes. it could be glitching just the left turn indicator which would kill both the indicator and that side of the brake lights. also check for any evidence of a trailer harness hacked in at the back.
  4. there is a connector in the wire harness right behind the drivers side tire. Corrosion in there robbed me of brake lights for a while. :(
  5. Dana 35 eh? what gear ratio? what size tires are you planning to run? My perches are nothing special and the only wheel hop I've experienced was on a real long full-throttle gravel-ly uphill climb. I have added a second main leaf to my packs. don't under any circumstance remove the big overload leaf. it goes a long way towards controlling 'wrap and doesn't inhibit travel.
  6. I wouldn't go too nuts over it. I remember a guy a couple years back that had a slight height difference. he went to the extent of swapping the springs left to right and got no change what-so-ever. :dunno:
  7. Not sure of you simply used the generic name, but "carb cleaner" should not be used in the throttle body of a vehicle with an o2 sensor. You need to use a "throttle body" cleaner or a carb cleaner specifically labled as o2 sensor safe. Is the catalytic converter all plugged up?
  8. :rotfl2:
  9. don't forget to replace your u-joints. they don't like changes in their operating angle and can cause vibrations.
  10. been there even more in the last 35 years. :D my favorite restaurant is Trails End in Fort Wilderness. all you can eat delicious fried chicken. this particular trip is more laidback than normal with only one park day. I'm just happy to get away from the snow for a week. and moving to GA is the backup plan. I'm still trying to find some worthwhile work in MI so I can keep the old house.
  11. landed without incident. always a good thing. :D
  12. yes. for every inch of lift, the shackle needs to be 2" longer than stock. so a chevy drop shackle that raises the MJ up 2" will be 4" longer than stock. if I remember right, stock is like 5.5".
  13. yes, I know it's not an 86. :D the pictures are pretty crappy, but I've seen far far worse shape MJs around here going for more so this might be a good start for a project. http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/2217741316.html
  14. looks stockish to me. our trucks are indeed trucks and will tend to sit a bit higher in the rear.
  15. later today I'm flying to GA to meet up with the family and then we're driving down to visit mickey mouse. I'll have internet at each location, but obviously less time on it. be prepared for an onslaught of photos of my nephew Zayne in disney world. we now return you to your regularly scheduled MJ addiction...
  16. sounds good to me. be aware that 4door XJ buckets don't lean forward like MJ buckets.
  17. there is such thing as a 2 wheel alignment and a 4 wheel alignment. but afaik that's completely independent of being 2wd or 4wd.
  18. upgraded the u-joints/shafts yet?
  19. opinions will vary wildly on lockers and daily driving. depends on the driver, the lockers used, the tires, the vehicle setup, and the weather encountered.
  20. power setting = normal comfort setting = why on earth does this even exist in the world? :dunno: It's right up there with the CAD and the Dana 35. not Jeep's finest moments.
  21. don't feel too bad. I've had more than 30 of the things go through my possession so I've got a bit more experience with the 8.8. :D
  22. also known as the sway bar mount. :D
  23. might want to upgrade your front U-joints/shafts along with that front locker.
  24. everything has to be changed to go HO. HO and Renix share a similar setup, but do not share any parts. Chrysler redesigned everything. What do you gain? not much. unless something is wrong with the truck you have. some of us have annoying corrosion issues in the harnesses. some bought severely neglected trucks. In those type of cases, starting from scratch is a promising prospect. But if you're up to the task, it's mostly bolt-in. there are some hiccups with the fact that XJs and MJs don't share much in the rear. But nothing that hasn't been solved already by others.
  25. what happened at hollister to mess up the slave??
