  1. It's a trim / decal package, nothing else. yup, a sticker or maybe an emblem to commemorate the 1988 Olympics. that's all. there wasn't even consistency for what you got. my 88's stickers were different than yours.
  2. car-part.com can help find junkyard axles. make sure you search for the various years of xj dana 30s. the website separates everything by part number and that number changed over the years. also if you didn't yet know, 4.10s are fairly common in the 95-01 explorer 8.8s.
  3. that's 175 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars gets you 5 bucks american. apparently 2008 saw some insane inflation of their currency and they've been using other country's currencies ever since. But now Zimbabwe is officially switching to the american dollar and willing to give the above exchange rate for the old stuff. wow indeed. biggest bill they printed was the 100 trillion. dang, that's a lot of zeros...
  4. a square piece of electrical tape will fix it right up.
  5. if anything, they will pull the tire further from the control arm by a half inch.
  6. ZJ canyons are 7" wide, TJ ones are 8" wide.
  7. waaaaaaaay too short. :(
  8. like this? its not exactly ideal (the shock was the limiting factor in both up and down travel), but I ran this for a good year 'til I could afford some nice (and longer) shocks. On the street it worked just fine.
  9. I don't think it'll be a good enough insulator to keep the heat of the sun at bay. if you go with hurculiner for the bed, be aware that prep is the key to adhesion. follow the steps and don't skimp out on anything. also, do NOT get any on your body or anything you care about.
  10. soooooo... stroking the engine out to 4.6l is allowed? :brows:
  11. about 5 times my budget, but nice ride.
  12. leaf springs can settle a bit after use. see what all happens when you put a whole bunch of weight back there for a day.
  13. nice catch!
  14. very true, more power AND better economy... but it sounds sooooo much better when you're exploding all those gallons and gallons of gasoline inside a 5.9 :D
  15. was bored so I started some preliminary hunting for a good XJ for my uncles project and of course that meant wading through craiglist ads. here are some from today that left me shaking my noggin'. :shake: this title cracks me up every time :rotf: "jeep 98grand. Cherokee London 4times4" this XJ is for sale in georgia... right now, not 6 months ago... apparently the pic was snapped on the one day of the year it snowed. a TJ ad said: "Done a transmission swap but transmission was the wrong kind so it'll run but not very fast" :dunno: it's listed as a manual. the always frustrating engine listing: "V6 incline 6" I'm hoping the words in this wrangler ad were mixed up with another ad: "This vehicle get around 40 mpg. Keyless entry and theft deterrent system. Power windows, mirrors, steering and locks. Salvage title because car was struck in rear bumper which was professionally repaired with original mazda parts." THIS is the best pic you have of your jeep?! and the odo entry says 18000000. ya know, your phone still takes pictures if you rotated it sideways. or are you showing off your awesome frontyard foliage? turn the dang phone and take a step closer! ...Swapped to Dana 55... and don't get me started on the incredible number of people who think their XJ is a "fullsize" suv. I sure hope that is some sort of default choice in the craigslist software. :fs1:
  16. this thing still on? shall I pin the thread?
  17. do it! . :MJ 1: .
  18. I have one! :D just got it though, so it's a work in progress. bumper, flares, and some paint are in its future.
  19. there are three wires coming out of the tank. ground, power, and signal for the fuel gauge. can't remember which color is which though. :hmm:
  20. never, never, never reuse ubolts. doesn't matter what they look like. they stretch upon tightening and should not be reused.
  21. power only happens for a short while after first turning the key. you'll want a helper to turn it for ya.
  22. it was in my truck. I was splicing in new connectors for a custom tow-harness so I could make use of the truck's taillights while flat-towing it. soon as I configured the wiring for towing, the truck wouldn't start to drive over to the tow vehicle. I ended up just grounding the pump directly to the frame right in front of the tank so as to avoid the while issue. plus that ground point is a common problem area so cleaning it up is a good thing to do anyway. read through this thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/36382-cruisers-renix-tips/
  23. make sure that grounding point behind the drivers side taillight is making a good clean connection.
