  1. neat! can you add that to the DIY forum?
  2. awesome!
  3. no clue what happened but I've restored it back to the test forum.
  4. subtle. :rotf: I own... several  The stamped numbers are new to me though.
  5. in no particular order; money, workload, responsibilities. this is a hobbyist's site run by hobbyists and I try to keep things as simple as possible. one of the unfortunate side effects is everyone needs to host their own pics. :(
  6. generally speaking: 2.5L + 4spd manual = 3.55 2.5L + 5spd manual = 4.10
  7. the exact same? doubtful, but I guess possible. are they interchangeable? yes.
  8. welcome to the addiction! :waving:
  9. my grandmother had her left knee replaced about 30 years ago and while the recuperation was a while, the joint still works great now into her 90s. 10 years after the left she declined fixing the right knee (from what I'm told she had become terribly afraid of going under anesthesia) and that knee has become the absolute bane of her existence. she used a cane for years until the constant pressure on her shoulder destroyed that too and now she shuffles with a walker. all because of her knee. :( obviously ymmv since there are different reasons for replacing a knee.
  10. lawn art? jet powered drag car? might need a windshield for that one though.
  11. what went wrong with the current motor?
  12. I try hard to resist owning doubles. MJ related paraphernalia are so rare that anything more than one almost counts as hoarding. :D (spare parts are exempt of course)
  13. very nice :D that the one that popped up on ebay a while back?
  14. all depends on what parts were installed over the years. most everything that could have a grease fitting is available in a non-greaseable form (u-joints,steering joints, ball joints, etc).

    Snowpocalypse

nothing but a bit of ice here east of atlanta. the slightly warmer temps hung on and kept the snow at bay.
  16. those are newer Jeep rims with the 5on5 bolt pattern, yes? spacers will push it out and less backspacing could put it right up to the fenders when turning. going to be close but it might work. 1.75 or 2" coil spacers are easy to come by for leveling the front. you'll want to check the alignment after any lifting.
  17. Meg is a gigantic tank of a truck and so my brain skipped to the quote from Hammond when Bo said he drove it "for pleasure". It was funnier in my head.

    Snowpocalypse

I've been watching the radar and the snow is trying mightily to reach us, but so far the heat is winning. nothing but regular rain and 36*. Atlanta is another story. I bet that place is a ghost town.
  19. may not be as funny if ya don't watch Top Gear, but I couldn't resist... :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: (that's Richard Hammond when he got to drive a tank)
  20. Thankfully they seem to work pretty well right now! so did mine. didn't find out the rear weren't doing anything until months later. :(
  21. make sure your rear brakes are functioning properly. I mention this because my 88 came to me with pieces missing from inside the drums (dissolved by rust). :fs1:

    Snowpocalypse

technically it's not the snow that hurts the south as much as it is the ice. just no way to deal with ice down here (although I hear-tell of some chemical spraying trucks available for the highways). no one has salt, no one has chains, no one has skills, and the highways are mostly 2 laners made completely of curves with 10ft+ drops on either side and no guardrails. ice kills down here.
  23. I think 5" of lift might be pushing the limits of travel for the factory tie-rod joint. :dunno:

    Snowpocalypse

I was in Atlanta for 2014 and escaped from being trapped on the freeway with my father and my little nephew by maybe a half-hour. that woulda sucked. :ack: the radar shows tonight is going to be a rough one with the freezing rain, but I'll believe it when I see it with the snow on saturday. unlike 2014, this time we have a generator :D (heat pump here, no propane or gas or oil or coal or anything truly useful in frigid weather). It's just best for everyone to stay home (so I can have the roads to myself :D ) there are some definite plusses though. :D
  25. all MJs used the same headlights.
