we all feel the pull of another MJ. I pulled into a gas station the other day and I didn't even need any diesel, but there was an MJ there and I just had to stop and say hi and give him a club magnet.

it's 30 freaking bucks, but the Ssscat brand of automatic air sprayer does wonders for keeping our cat away from the bedrooms at night (she likes to come down the hallway and howl in the middle of the night). it has a motion detector and sprays out a puff that my cat hates.

both backup lights are installed! can't wait for darkness so I can try them out I found that the design of the KJ doesn't lend itself to many options for light installation back there.

there should be a link to an 88 MJ factory shop manual in the link in my sig. I'd imagine there are step by step instructions (though I say this without actually knowing)

new aux fuse block is mostly wired up and installed. the only lights so far are the front ones, but they work. next up is the reverse lights (although step one seems to be locating the box. See, I like to hide things on myself. Keeps me on my toes. )

good o' hvac. never seems to break on a nice pleasant day.

but what 2wd pickup doesn't have a ton of weight in the back for winter? Back in its 2wd days I used to go out and hit the roads before the plow trucks came. and those weren't even snow tires, just new BFG ATs. besides, stopping and turning are more important than acceleration. snow tires for the win!!

snow tires are better than 4wd for snow.

there is a small improvement to be had by swapping the mechanical fan for an electric one. but yeah, gearing and running well are the keys.

forgot to include my new hitch silencer thingie. supposed to prevent banging of the hitch. don't know if it does that yet, but it works fantastic and holding my rack up. it's a cheap rack that doesn't fit well and thus hangs down and the corners would drag on the concrete when turning into a steep driveway (which is very common in north GA). now all is well.

what to look for depends on what you're going for with the truck. what are the plans?

turbines are my favorite MJ rim (and second favorite Jeep rim after the TJ rubicon). I say go for it.

love the tires I was thinking on a baby set for my liberty once I fix the suspension. I think the inner trim pops out and that exposes the screws. been a while since I've dealt with one.

just be careful that you don't accidentally plug any drain holes in the frame, rockers, etc

nah, the factory units should do fine. but I've seen some scary "recover points" in my life. A uniframe Jeep needs a proper "sandwich" on the sheetmetal and as many connective points as possible. I'm sure a factory setup will pop up on ebay now and again.

there's nothing worse than thinking you have a safe way to extract only to find it ripped out the sheetmetal and mangled the body (plus you're probably still stuck)

some new research on seats has shown that KK seats are an easy swap, are comfortable, and fold forward. now I just need to find one at the 'yards to test out that hypothesis.
