    hemi gladiator?

capacity is always capped by... something. they don't usually say what. and anything that adds weight to the truck, subtracts that from the tow capacity. just the price of that cool diesel sound.
  4. shhhh...
  5. the box with the gears is your O2 sensor mechanical timer. (lights up the check engine light at about 75k miles) the box with the velcro is your intermittent wiper brain box. no idea what the electronic servo thing is for. not factory. can't tell what that first photo is.
  6. still pulling her weight.
  7. your CPS will remain in the truck. just unbolt it and bolt it to the new transmission. it HAS to stay with the flywheel and computer.
  8. I would remove that trailer brake guy and all his associated wiring.
  9. the 88 brochure has it on the cab
  10. my 87 dealership brochure shows it at the rear
  11. the hockey sticks came out in 88. BUT, they would have come out in the second half of 1987 as an 88 model year. also, my 87-90 parts manual shows only the cab location for the 4x4 badge.
  12. it's all about taking the right picture
  13. very, VERY few people in this world would ever be able to tell an 87 from a 90. and I'd wager half of them are on the CC. I'm assuming this is for a movie that is set in the year 87?
  14. it's a junkyard search engine. not every junkyard uses it, but a lot do. keep in mind that it organizes things by part number and those can change over time even though the part is still swap-able (Jeep axles for example). sometimes ya gotta search for various years of Cherokee. oh, and I've had luck looking for larger parts, and then calling the yard to ask about smaller ones they may not bother to list.
  15. same way I find everything else. car-part.com and yeah, his new ride is going to be sweet.
  16. I didn't see a way to acquire them aside from a junkyard part. but you might need to seek out a Corvair group to know for sure.
  17. found this tidbit: "The louvres were factory for 60-64 vairs"
  18. what's the metal cover over a rear engined car called? I guess we could call it a deck lid. certainly sounds weird to say "trunk".
  19. cut out all the rot, weld in new steel, coat with por-15 or chassis saver.
  20. like most fashion fads, none if it ever made any sense. just like angry eyes or Carolina squatting. people like to be unique and push the limits. to them, taste and practicality take a back seat to "LOOK AT ME!".
  21. rustier. and more tan colored.
  22. I do get a kick out of people saying that adding 50 different light pods to the front of a Jeep is new or something.
  23. and a pair of stubby CB antennas, even if they don't function.
