I see your total as 996 posts. am I missing something?

this was shockingly hard to photograph. it's... too clean. it reflects every little light source! but I figure it'll work fine once it's shrunk down to a tiny, tiny thumbnail. up next I'll do the turbine

so I just spent a hour on the phone with ATT about why my phone that's been using 4Glte for like 9 years now is no longer acceptable to them since it was also capable of 3g (and they are getting rid of 3g). no concrete answers yet, but they will "look into it" and get back with me within 48 hours. further updates as events warrant. then I got my first email (of many I'm sure) that says I owe Uhaul for the various highway tolls I racked up in the northeast PLUS a dollar for an admin fee PER TOLL. so I just paid an extra dollar on that first $1.08 and it would appear I have to pay for each one as they get it. on a happier note, we found that a wren had figured out how to get into the smokestack and was trapped in the fireplace (much to the cat's delight). I didn't think I could coax it into a bag without a huge risk that it would escape and now be free in the house, so I dug up all the old kids tunnels and made a long wren-tunnel right out the door. worked like a charm.

Opinions on XJ tilt seat bases.

the curved "rocking" seats? they both raise you up and give you more adjustment in seat position. it's a very subjective thing about whether it's worth it or not. typically not recommended for tall people. -
and I'll remember to move my drive days to monday/tuesday rather than sunday/monday so I can get more relaxing in before i drive 14 hours home.

thanks for the legwork. I kinda figured they'd be too old for Chrysler to care about. I might try an AMC club. maybe someone's brain will have the info buried deep inside it.

as an alternative to cutting the fenders, what about just going with longer bumpstops? factory flares are definitely findable. -

regearing takes a lot of pennies, but it's worth every single one -
google wasn't very helpful. go figure. and this is the side profile of the empty box if it helps figuring out what went in there originally.

I absolutely would if I didn't have the turbine there that I got from Jim Oshel before he passed. It's not nos, but an unused spare from one of his old XJs.
-
you find me some and I'll do that plus a nos center cap while we're at it with this dreaming-of-things-that-ain't-happening.
-
oooooo, that's a good idea.
-
dang you for being so utterly right. not yet sure how to attach it to the wall though. might need to clear space on top of the little bookshelf on the 3rd wall...
-
meh. nos is nos. I traded a poster print for the cloths since the seller was an MJ nut too.

finally have something to add to this thread. some scores from the All Breeds show. I think my favorite is the empty AMC box. not yet sure what I'm going to put in it. it is wide enough to put in my 2 binders of ads/magazines.
-
also, this stuff followed me home (no, I don't get to keep the rollbar, I'm just transporting it but I'll be taking a lot of pics and measurements before I hand it over)
-
made it home! I think the total count for me was 14.5 MJs? (including BJ's and Krypt's that were at their houses). also spotted in my travels: -a new Ferrari on the side of the freeway with a very perturbed looking guy on the phone standing next to it -mid 90s Dakota converted into a full-on camper but using 2 rear axles -helicopter on a trailer -but no other MJs so aside from the ones I drove to see, I saw more broken down Ferraris than I did MJs on the 2000 mile journey.

looks pretty solid
