yeah, it's been my plan for a while now to buy a clean body with a blown v6 and swap stuff over, but that's a heck of a project for a couple feet of rotted rockers that are covered by plastic anyways. especially now that the suspension and axles and doors have been replaced already. if you've never snapped a pic of your rig in a random parking lot... are you really driving the right rig?

balljoint is here, so I'll try and do that this weekend. in the meantime I built a work shelf for the tailgate. this is just a test version. I'm still trying to figure out how to properly support it underneath. the chain lock works great to prevent it from collapsing when bumped, but hardly strong enough to support any real weight. and I got a new windshield today! hoo-baby I've been wanting one of those for a while now. most all her miles have been on concrete freeways and the glass has been covered with thousands of teeny-tiny sun-catching chips for years.

I used a stock YJ rear line on my lifted truck. plenty long enough.

could be anything. bad door seal, failed windshield seal, failed antenna grommet, or any of the plethora of holes and gaps in the firewall. here are some I found in a recent truck repair:

well, the junkyard rear arm was in way better shape than my rotted one, but the balljoint is still bad. new one is ordered. at 17 bucks, I should have just ordered that asap even if it didn't end up being necessary. on the plus side, I'm becoming an expert at boomerang r+r.

shelving for the rear. still working out what should go where, but I like it so far.

operation "fancy pallet 2.0" is taking shape. version 1 was made in a hurry many moons ago using plain ol 2x4s (and eventually rotted), but this time I'm using cedar and added proper tie down points. so now I have a perfectly flat roof rack for hauling lumber, from 2x4s to 4x8 sheets. (note: these pics are not the finished product) fun facts: the rails on a KJ are not parallel to each other, nor is the roof flat.
