  1. clean leaf springs and shock mounts for one. but I'm not sure I'd drive a along way just for that.
  2. very weird. have you asked C+M about it? maybe this is a known issue?

My backpack is also like 20 years old now. I went with the Kelty Comanche 5600 (because of course I did. ) got no complaints about it.
  5. step 1: make it run step B: make it perfect just don't throw anything away and you can get to it at a later date.
  6. I merged the 2 threads. I'd say you did pretty good! just keep her out of the salt and she's good for another 30 years.
  7. you wouldn't be the first guy that needed to steal an axle from another of his Jeeps in order to go fetch a new Jeep. gotta do what ya gotta do.
  8. I see some parts they left that I'd have taken.

last big hike I did was a 50 miler in the mountains of NM with my old scout troop (as an adult leader) and I brought some comforts with me, including an lightweight aluminum beach chair and an umbrella for the sun. the boys poked fun of me for being an "old man" until about day 3 when the scorching sun finally showed itself and the campsite areas became far more primitive, and then they started asking if they could borrow them. I'm not here to suffer, I'm here to have fun.
  13. is the dimmer switch clicking each time? (the actual switch not the handle) I've had mine come loose from the column and not properly engaging.
  14. do you have power at the relay?
  15. welcome to the addiction
  16. oh, your truck seems to be trimmed already. then I guess 32s or 33s aren't necessarily as much of a headache.
  17. I'd put them in a locked box bolted to the inside of the truck.
  18. do 5 per rim, not just one. and different styles too. make them work for it. then do something so they can't just start the truck and drive away and fight the locks somewhere else.

nothing appears to be all that different out the patio. admittedly I can only see a very tiny slice of florida, but that's a good sign. I'm afraid to turn on the news though.
  20. for 33s I'd do 4.10s if auto or 4.56 if manual. be prepared, 33s are a big tire. bigger than the wheelwells will comfortably fit for stuffing/turning and so trimming is necessary. if you don't want anything too crazy, I'd go with 31s and a 3" lift. you only lose 1" of ground clearance with 31s over 33s but life becomes sooooo much easier. .
  21. there are guides out there but they seem to be more confusing than helpful to new comers. what's the engine/trans/tire going to be? what type of wheeling would you do? you should put some basic info in your signature.
