  1. Up front yes. In back, no.
  2. My "Ford" suspension is not lreally imited by the current shocks so in theory these should work just fine lengthwise. Other owners running flexy 5-link suspensions can definitely gain from them though. All 4 current shocks on the 88 will be going over to the 90, which is in desperate need of shocks. :D

It was SCCA and the 2.5L powered MJs frequently came in 1st and 2nd. :D
  4. It is supposedly available right now. But I have no idea if there is a back-order or anything.
  5. Not driveshaft, axle. As tire size increase, the added stress on the Dana 30 goes up practically exponentially. Unfortunately there is no easy upgrade for the front axle. Just make sure you've upgraded the axle shafts inside to the later model ones with the Dana-44 size U-joints. http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/te ... dSeals.htm
  6. The best kit (whatever it may be) will new coils, new lower control arms, long MJ-specific AALs for the rear in addition to the brake lines, sway bar fix and trac bar fix (those can vary as to how they acomplish them). Plenty of kits won't have all of those. The only thing that typically won't be included is shocks and that's because the manufacturers recognize that many people have differing preferences. XJ kits will generally come with t-case lowering blocks, but MJs won't need that.
  7. I think you'll learn a lot when you read it, just keep in mind that XJs and MJs have plenty of differences and he doesn't list every single one.
  8. Did you try having someone turn the wheel back and forth while you watch the front end?
  9. Not yet, but they will. :D
  10. Ok, I think I did it. Try signing in as: $500 MJ with the password being: comanche
  11. My severely belated birthday present! (I told my dad to hold off the purchase until they went on sale)
  12. Only thing I can think of is maybe it slowly loosened and worked its way out until the compression popped it out. But even that doesn't seem likely. You're right, that's weird. :dunno:
  13. Yup. That MJ was built by Rob Bryce and was one of the first built MJs I found on the web way back when. Had to do a bit of searching through the ol' harddrive but here you go:
  14. If there's one thing that Ford was always consistant with though the years, it was being inconsistant.
  15. Is this what you're looking for?
  16. 2 things, -All MJs have the extra bracing on the lower control arm mounts. -This bracing makes it, um, challenging to remove the lower control arm mounts.
  17. I used the Bronco trac bar, cut the ends off it, rotated the bend up so it cleared the diff better (the bend points forward in the bronco since the track bar was pretty much parallel with the ground), then had the axle bushing welded back on along with the bushing from the axle end of the stock Jeep trac bar welded to the frame end of the new bar and used Rustys track bar bracket up there (with small spacers around the bolt since the holes in the bracket were slightly larger than the hole through the Jeep bushing). It is bastardized to say the least. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with rod ends and tube.
  18. There's always the possibility that he's telling the "truth" as he knows it, and the guy that sold it to him was lying his @$$ off. :D So instead of being a lying bastard, the ebay guy was just a gulliblel idiot. :shake:
  19. I'm 20 minutes south of Detroit. I haven't a clue what the status of the book is. All I know is, I've got mine.
  20. Cross the border and swing by my house some day and I'll do my best to walk you through the details on your truck. Plus I'll let you thumb through the new "Jeep Cherokee builders guide" book. Pages 86-88 are the best, :D
  21. Almost...
  22. But only most rangers. I've read that later models with the 4.0 v6 or the FX-4 package got the strong 8.8, just not with disks. Be careful with the backspacing. I've got 4" of it on my 8" rims with 12.5" wide tires. That's the most I could find in a reasonably priced steel rim.
  23. Or just extend your bumpstops to keep the tall tires out of the sheetmetal.
  24. Huh? :???: F-150 8.8s are 31 spline, just like the Explorer 8.8. Or you could go with an truck 9" and get the highpinion 3rd member from truehi9.com That's my plan. :D
  25. Fullwidths RULE!!
