Pretty much, yes. There are some things that XJs had that MJs didn't (like a washer bottle with a second pump for the rear window).

So I found this on the web and I have this on my axle tube: 610758-2 and 7 22 7 80 and it's very poorly stamped too. FWIW the cover has a date in '95. Oh, and I noticed my U-joints aren't the same brand. :hmm: Which I guess is fine, seeing as I have to replace the one side anyway.

On the cover eh? I'll have to go clean that off some more. This is the axle going into my 90. I bought it a while ago and don't remember which year it was. Might be handy when buying parts. :D

Where would I find an identifying mark that tells me the year? I've found lots of marks here and there.

The odd thing it that Lionsback isn't the tallest, isn't the narrowest, isn't the steepest hill in Moab, but it is tall, narrow, steep, and located right next to the road which allows for spectators to gather. It's private property now and they charge a fee to go up it.

Care to expend on that thought? :hmm: What are you comparing the roll-on to? Drop-in? Spray-on? Which roll-on product are you talking about?

There's nothing wrong with an internal slave, until something goes wrong. And even then it's only a huge problem if dropping the trans is a huge problem. To some people out there, it isn't that big a deal. I'm sorta in the middle on that one. It's a pain, but I can do it. I bought an external slave bellhousing for my truck ONLY because I found one cheap AND because the internal slave was already toast AND because all the parts came with the external bellhousing. So as long as all the used parts are good, I fixed my bad internal slave for like $35. The big reason the External slave transmissions are more money is simply because they are newer and tend to be lower mileage.

They need the floatation to stay on top of the snow. I bet they only run a couple psi in them too.

Or snap them off. Lots of patience and lots of PB (and even a bit of heat) resulted in saving most of mine.

Is the wiring resistor in the system? Inside the engine compartment on the drivers side wall near the front there should be a grey ceramic block maybe 3" or so long with a wire coming out of each end and a bolt in the middle holding to the wall.

Gears are likely 4.10

And if you say it reeeeal fast, it almost sounds easy. :D I highly recommend replacing the upper bolts with long studs. It helps with aligning the tranny when reinstalling.
