  1. The XJ/MJ AX-4 is essentially identical to the XJ/MJ AX-5 except for the 5th gear. Be careful though, there were some changes over the years in output shaft length, but you should be ok since your truck is 87 and the trans should be about as old. I think the changes started in 91 or something like that.
  2. All FSJ AMC-20s will have 1-piece shafts. Only the CJ got screwed with the 2-parters. If you're keeping you front axle, go find yourself a 95-01 Explorer 8.8 rear axle. Stronger than a Dana 44 and has disk brakes.
  3. Yup.
  4. You might want to look into upgrading your front shafts to ones that use the bigger U-joints (or go aftermarket) and kiss your Dana 35 goodbye.
  5. Which automatic?
  6. 4.88s. Axles?

You could not be more wrong. Now, I may not make it my desktop image, but... :D
  8. Speakers in the dash? :hmm:
  9. Out of curiousity, what size tires are going along with this 8" lift? Axles? Gears?
  10. Well, there is no "easy" way. There's just the way. :D http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1988 http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1704 http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=169
  11. The T-case isn't the cause of the clocking, the trans has the holes moved over slightly.
  12. The shifter handle might be different too. The TJ shifter that came with my AX-15 is a little weird.

:rotfl2: :clapping: Funniest thing I've read all day. :D
  14. Try car-part.com for junkyard parts. And I concur, the F-250 high-pinion Dana 44 is the thing to get. :D
  15. Yup, I find it depends a lot on the condition of the leafs. I had horrible wrap back when the 88 was 2wd, but later found out that I had a broken leaf on each side. I simply added a second main MJ leaf in below my mains as helpers when I went SOA (and of course I replaced the broken leafs).
  16. Yeah, someone else screwed something up. Hopefully nothing permanant happened to us, but we were offline while the host tried to fix things.
  17. You were expiriencing that just before the glitches with the host started. Are you still seeing them?

  19. Might be that the little return spring is dying. Or that the cable is getting stuck and not retracting all the way. Or that one of the latches is still sticking. And how on earth did I miss your post? :hmm:
  20. I didn't see that particular episode, but I remember one on extreme 4x4 where they mentioned that somehow a grade 5 bolt got into the suspension on one of the rigs and it broke, causing a chain reaction of destruction. :thwak:
  21. He would be in North Bay Ontario, or about 575 miles north of you. :D If this truck is in good shape besides the rear frame area, you should be able to find someone who wants to build up a trail rig. Beds are overated anyway. :D
  22. Absolutely. I have Rustys 3" coils and love the performance I get from them on my trail rig. They're rusty as all hell though. The powdercoating/paint or whatever that black coating was didn't last long at all.
  23. Not to be confused with "dualing" MJ's. :D 8) Or Dually MJs. :D
  24. That is f'n SWEET!!!! Dang I wish the computers at school had sound. :( Have to wait til I get home I guess.
