YJ axles are identical to XJ axles except for the mounts. MJ bodies are wider in the back than the front, so all of our front tires stick out more than the rears. (even worse in mine since the 9" is 1" narrower than the front Dana 44)

Might be too wide to fit between the door and the center console. A tape measure should answer that though. 8)

If you're doing any brake line work, I suggest replacing all the rubber lines too. And if your truck is lifted a little bit or if you ever plan on a lift, I would use YJ front lines and a rear line from a ~95ish Dakota. You should care what brand. If you go too cheap, you'll spend lots of money and likely regret it. RE makes quality stuff. Can't go wrong. :D

If we're talking about a rear axle, I would keep looking for an MJ/XJ 44 or the Explorer 8.8 (95-01 have disk brakes :brows: ).

I had one mouse get caught by his tail and dragged the trap to the other side of the house where I found him. Now I nail the traps to a larger chunk of wood.

T-5 maybe? Does anyone make a stronger version of that?

It looks that way because they are. He's running the stock LCAs. This was an intermediate step before the rest of the parts are assembled to go for a full 4.5" lift. He's not very good with patience. :D

I would put them on the ground under the truck by the front tires (where they likely jump up into the truck). Maybe a couple on the floor of the truck, but only if you check them every day. I don't like the thought of a dead animal potentially stinking up my truck. :ack:

They are identical transmissions except for the 5th gear in the AX-5. SCCA back in the day used the 2.5L, but they were stock cranks as far as I know.

Chances are good that if you have the AX-5 behind your 2.5, it won't last long behind any additional power. :( The best thing to do is to regear the axles for more perceived grunt and to make better use of the power you've got. :D

Been there, done that. Being stranded at a truckstop overnight that is. Hopefully the one he's at has food and bathrooms. :D That one in Indiana at which I spent the last night of my out-west adventure was just a big parking lot on the side of the freeway. :(
