  1. She still gets out every once in a while. Drove it to work today actually. We should get up and hang out anyways. Always good to see you brother.
  2. My '86 MJ just rolled over 100K last week. A big day! Don't be jealous.
  3. Hadn't been here in a while. Just wanted to say congrats on the new job, bro. And of course, the truck still looks great!
  4. Looks fantastic Ryan. Great job man! Makes me want to work on my truck some more.
  5. Thanks for the link. My buddy called and talked to someone at "Postal Pete" and basically what they said is just leave it unplugged. The airbag will not deploy in an accident (no seat) and that's why the light stays on. Also, it will still pass inspection so no worries there. Thanks for the help fellas. I knew I could count on you.
  6. Thanks guys. I'll try to keep tabs on my buddy's situation so that this thread get some type of closure. Nothing worse that searching for a thread only to find the one you need with no follow up. :wall:
  7. My friend just bought a right-hand drive JK Unlimited for his mom to use on her mail route. May I just pause here and say SWEET! Anyways. He removed the passenger seat (left side, awesome) to put a sort of shelf in it's place for sorting and storage. When he uplugged the harness from the seatbelt the airbag light came on in the dash. I know my wife's KJ has the weight sensor which tells the Libby when or when not to deploy the passenger airbag. I'm not sure if JK's do as well. Also, do any of you have any idea whether or not the light = a thrown code which would prevent it from passing inspection? Also also, the illuminated light on the dash is moderately annoying. Is there a way around this that doesn't include inadvertently exploding the airbag for no reason? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Awesome build so far man! I live in Mint Hill and definitely need to see this truck first hand. Keep up the good work and let us know where we can check it out once you get it fired up!
  9.    :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  10. If it's humor you want, the MJ Pub is definitely the right place. With that said, if you'd ever wondered what "grooming" would do for you downstairs, you might be getting ready to find out!! I'll be praying for you bro. Hang in there!
  11. Was your clutch working at all before you bled the system? I just had the ax4 out of my 86 and I had similar problems before we started. We knew that the problem was likely more than hydraulic on mine because it quit working all at once. Turned out that pieces of the clutch springs had jammed into the pressure plate and it wouldn't release. Good luck!
  12. If everything goes right I'll be moving the shifter alot. Yeah, if things come unglued again it'll be all new. I'd probably even spring for a new flywheel and an AX5 at that point. I've had enough of laying on the driveway for now so hopefully it holds together. Man, I'm so happy to have my little truck back. I might even give her a bath to celebrate. And NO, pictures of her all wet and covered in bubbles will not be availiable.
  13. Thanks for all of your help guys. It went back in yesterday (albeit with some mild drama). It'd be nice to have a lift to work on it, or even a garage for that matter. I meant to take a few pics of the AX4 while it was out but I guess if you've seen an AX5 then you've seen this too. Rolled the dice and went disc only. First drive seemed promising. Good feel, no chatter. I tried to go far enough to let it heat up a little and everything seemed to work great. As a matter of fact, I can't remember it ever shifting from 1st to R repeatedly without grinding so that's cause for celebration right there. I used to have to go 4th to R to get it to go in smoothly. Good stuff. I'll update in about a week or so to let yawll know if it's still in one piece. :D
  14. Besides the broken springs? :smart: Well, the rough idling and poor throttle response from the vacuum problems made the truck hard to drive for a while. I think that coupled with the occasional, mild to medium abuse on my part caused the springs to say uncle. I plan on scuffing the pp and flywheel with 180 grit cloth before reassembling. Then it's just hoping for the best.
  15. Update: I have yet to cry. I am going to gamble. We're replacing the clutch disc only. I know this sounds crazy, but I am going to take the risk. Wish me well!
