In my 3 trucks, I've battled 6 leaks on the drivers side, and 2 on the passenger side. None directly related to the drivers feet. Although, it is possible for the drivers foot to wear a hole through the carpet. That would allow water to get past the rubberized carpet backing.

I should be down for like the 3rd and 4th.

Compared with v6 Libby owners I know, the CRD Libby easily makes up for any extra cost at fillup. :D

So let me get this stright, you found a completely rust free MJ and you're going to... strip it? There's got to be something against that in the by-laws...

You need to ride around the block on mine then. Anything over 5mph becomes painful to your kidneys. Of course, they well used and I don't think they'd ever seen pavement before.

I haven't gotten one in a while, but I seem to remember they run 50-60 bucks. Go to your local tire store.

Anytime lift is added, the steering goes out of whack. You'll need to get that addressed or you'll wear out your tires pretty fast.

Did you get it aligned after the lift was added?

Well, your MTs are a compromise tire leaning to the offroad side of the middle. Try DD'ing TSLs and you'll think twice. :D But then, some of us don't get to go wheeling all that often. :( I agree that swapping tires can be a pain, but it's totally worth it to be able to run the boggers. But then I carry a floor jack, co2 tank and impact gun to make the work breeze on by. :brows:

Don't overlook getting a 2wd. They are essentially the same body/suspension as a 4wd and then you won't waste any money paying for parts you won't be using anyways (meaning that if you're building it up, you likely won't want to use the axles that come with most MJs).

I really really like the Michelin Hydrotread.... .... for the minivan. :D Also good for cars I suppose. I don't own any cars. It gives superb traction and is a 90k mile rated tire. Just be aware that it is directional and at one point in time you may need to have them remounted on the rims and switched left to right. For trucks, I like the trXus MT, but I wouldn't necessarily want to DD it. It's a heavy tire and balancing can sometimes be a challenge. My 2 suggestions are always: A: buy lightly used tires rather than new. B: get a second set of rims for offroad tires. A lot of tires are decent compromises, but nothing beats a street tire for the street and an offroad tire for offroad. Bias SXs ftw!

It's not generally the drivers fault, but a combination of Jeep engineers, age, and the rain. The rain can find it's way in through various typical weaknesses (windshield gasket, A/C drain, rear window seal, door seal, firewall holes, etc) and if it gets in, it can't get out. The insulation soaks it up and floor rot is inevitable if nothing is done about it. :( The bed sides have a design flaw where dirt and debris can get stuck up above the wheel well on that little shelf and that attracts moisture and bed rot is inevitable. The bottom of the doors usually rot due to dirt getting in and plugging up the drain holes, causing water to stick around and rot them out. The rockers, well, I'm not entirely certain about them. There's probably more than one way for the rot to start and once is starts, it goes downhill fast.

Yes, yes you should go external if you can find one. Just know that if you can't find one, I can have an internal slave bellhousing in the area for you on Oct 4th-ish. :thumbsup:

Don't feel too bad about the floor. It could be worse. (like my 90, which is missing most of the floor on that side)
