  1. go with the block from a 3.4L camaro/firebird. it's identical on the outside and will accept all your current accessories/intake/exhaust. http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/a ... ?id=277008
  2. My brain is telling me that the 8.25 is some where between the 44 and 35 in snout length, so it should work just fine.
  3. there's a fix for the door hinges in the DIY forum.
  4. I'd soooo totally mount them up on the wall. :D
  5. the front brakes changed. you'll need to keep the different eras together as a set. be sure to cap the vaccum source for the old front axle. Other than that, the front should go right in.
  6. make sure nothing is wrong with it. A clogged cat, a bad sensor, clogged fuel filter, bad injector, failing fuel pump, etc. can cause power issues.
  7. No pluses needed. Just type in your words and make sure "Search for all terms" is checked.
  8. If you wait til the lift, it'll be perfect. Might be pretty tight since the 44 has a 1" longer snout on it.
  9. according to randys ring and pinion, it's apparently the same assembly used in Vipers and Corvettes.
  10. yes, you'll need to swap both axles.
  11. what do you mean?
  12. Rick's (xjs4ever) old MJ:
  13. :agree: Given identical drivetrains, the longbed MJ will have a driveshaft 6" longer than a shortbed MJ. If you have a 4.0L auto, you can get a driveshaft from a 4.0L stick and it'll be 1" longer.
  14. I would always swap for lower gears. The XJ shackle is, A: too short for an MJ's leafpacks, and B: only drops the truck 1/2"
  15. gearing is where the greatest improvement comes.
  16. the 4.0 rules of thumb: 4.0 + auto = 3.55 4.0 + stick = 3.07
  17. which rims do you have?
  18. I just readr that JP magazine is working on a stroked/turbo inline 6. They say it should make 558hp when it's finished.
  19. which kit are you looking at?
  20. See if either axle has the little metal tag on the diff cover.
  21. The 3.9 engine has a completely different bolt pattern.
  22. You need the proper bellhousing and the slave componants (slave, shifter fork, throughout bearing). Try to make sure they are all there when you buy the bellhousing.
  23. I would do a manual, all day every day. but it's entirely up to personal preference. What would you do?
  24. only shifting between 2wd to 4wd high can be done at speed.
