  1. take the leafpacks with the axle. they should be MTs unless the truck was altered.
  2. The ballast resistor is Jeep's way of lessening the rpms of the fuel pump for quieter running.
  3. stock control arms pull the tire backwards in the wheelwell as height increases. caster suffers too, as well as the stock track bar will pull the front axle over to the passenger side a bit.
  4. Personally, I'd lower the back end down to match the front.
  5. don't forget gearing and axle upgrades
  6. yeah, southern deer are tiny. :shake:
  7. Do NOT try to rebuild the Peugeot transmission. parts are hard to come by, super expensive, and the trans has been known to fail within a few thousand miles of a rebuild. look into the AX-15 swap. In the mean time, make sure your gear oil is up to the proper level in the trans. My old Peugeot would have fits when the level got low.
  8. some photos I've found over the years:
  9. so swap all that stuff over. it's been done before. no need to slice up a perfectly good MJ when it all bolts in.

    Bolt pattern

    yes.
  11. Have fun!
  12. whichever kit you get, I would recommend new lower control arms for 3".
  13. tech questions should really go in the Tech forum so more guys will see it.
  14. As I understand it, the longer shackles put more leverage on the leafs (in regards to spring wrap) and can increase sag over time. A shackle should be matched to the leaf packs (as they do from the factory), not used to add height.
  15. cut the back few inches off a junkyard MJ and mount the whole thing on the wall with the new pieces installed.
  16. stock shocks "should" work ok for under 2" of lift. for the AAL, see his post in our classifieds: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18787
  17. that is exactly what hellcreek's new AAL is for. more support without lift.
  18. shackles might make it worse. Look into the AALs that hellcreek is making. They fix the sag.
  19. just don't get any closer and it'll remain a sharp looking truck. :D
  20. I also recommend upgrading the carb if you can
  21. the link should tell you what's needed. it's not much harder than swapping in a new 2.8L

  23. for a mere three thousand dollar investment... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/1433122802.html
  24. how much of a project do you want? It's totally possible to buy a whole car and swap in the fuel injection. But if you're not up to wiring all that, the block/heads are what you're looking for.
  25. I don't have an answer, but was curious as to why you're asking. :hmm:
