  1. What he said. :D how much of a project are you looking for? Swapping to HO is a mostly bolt-in procedure, but it is a big undertaking and the truck will be down for a while.
  2. Awesome idea! I just might steal it for my 90. :D
  3. not a 1992 baby, but still awesome none the less. Ever since one of our members found one with a birthday in late April 1992, I've been on the lookout for other 92 calender year birthdays.
  4. there should be a number stamped on the ring gear. Otherwise, try to count the pinion gear teeth. deviding the two will give your ratio. If your ratio is indeed 3.55, I highly recommend finding a pair of 4.10 geared axles to counteract your bigger tires.
  5. Yup, early Dana 35s were not a C-clip design. do you know how to set up gears? if you broke your gears, chances are good that the housing is bent and you'll break the next set also. Do not spend money to fix that axle. Go find another.
  6. It's a math joke. you'll always get the same answer. :D
  7. the axles *should* have better gears than yours. check before buying
  8. someone once told me that a worn timing chain can cause blowby too.

If you want any of the stickers, just send me a PM with what you'd like.
  10. More than once I was told I was crazy. :D After 3k miles I almost made it all the way back. Got within 2 hours of home when the water pump bearings gave out.

that welded rearend will trim your potential buyer group since it's not really all that street-friendly anymore. :(
  13. now edited for cleanliness. :D
  14. when retrieving axles from explorers, I usually slice through the shackles to make it easier to pull the axle out.
  15. yeah. too bad there aren't oil leaks in the typical rust locations. :(
  16. side of the road ingenuity at that. :D I had a smaller catch bottle in place, but when I finally had the truck out on the freeway for hours on end (heading to Moab), the little bottle quickly filled and the blowby air pressure spewed oil all over the place.
  17. yup. axles are easy to remove. :D
  18. the hole might have been used to drain the axle
  19. the inner fenders are sorta structural in an MJ. being unibody and all.
  20. an AAL pushes the truck up, away from the axle. It generally had more arch than the rest of the pack and pushes up the ends of the leafpacks.
  21. mine was so bad that i ran a vacuum hose from the valve cover to a jug, and then a line from the jug on to the air filter. It caught the oil pretty well.
  22. Hopefully it's not due to a rusted out floor causing too much extra movement. :( If not, then this it the procedure for adjusting the linkage.
  23. I tend to leave mine at 3 or 5 megapixels. Don't really need anything bigger unless you plan on making posters. :D
  24. the alloy Grand Cherokee rims will fit better. those steel ones would only work properly with a 3" lift.
