  1. $250 for MJ seats?!? He states "low-mileage" and he's in south east MI... I wonder if he got those seats from that 89 Elim I saw in the junkyard? If so, he paid $64 for the pair. http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/1439829435.html
  2. Rule # 1 about Jeeps is that there are no hard rules, only "rules of thumb".
  3. Does he know what year it's out of? engine that was in front of it? why so much if he doesn't know what it is? I wouldn't pay more than 150 for a perfectly functioning Peugeot. Save your money and look into the AX-15 swap. Oh, and the bellhousings do not swap between the 2. have you tried car-part.com yet?
  4. S+W has been know to have some pretty good deals. Not usually much in the way of MJs though. http://www.sandwauto.com/ car-part.com can also help find stuff. I think S+W is even in that search engine.
  5. I've thought about nabbing one in mountain bike form, just for the heck of it. :D If I had any money that is.
  6. The ThunderChief was a 1987 Concept car. The Eliminator existed before 91.
  7. Do you have a tow rig? U-haul rents trailers and tow dollys. Or they rent tow rigs too, but that can get expensive for a long haul.
  8. It's buried pretty good. The cars are all parked together with only walking space between them. We had an escort showing us around the buildings and he kept a pretty close eye on us. Can't imagine why. :dunno: Rob is correct, we were only allowed to snap pics of the LSR MJ because it was the one we had clearance to see. Secrecy is there main anti-theft policy. I'm guessing he's just going to walk back there, pull off the cover, snap some pics, then put the cover back on. I'm so glad we've been able to make contact with someone who might actually do something. :D Tell him I'd be more than happy to drive back and assist.
  9. If I'm ever out your way, I'll bring along some of my .32 shells. :D
  10. shoot more. :D
  11. I like my single shot shottys. I figure if I can't hit it the first time, I don't deserve it. :D
  12. I've got some big ol' ford axles under my MJ and honestly, they aren't that bad if you add on some bushwacker flares. Wheel backspacing is key.
  13. take the leafpacks with the axle. they should be MTs unless the truck was altered.
  14. The ballast resistor is Jeep's way of lessening the rpms of the fuel pump for quieter running.
  15. stock control arms pull the tire backwards in the wheelwell as height increases. caster suffers too, as well as the stock track bar will pull the front axle over to the passenger side a bit.
  16. Personally, I'd lower the back end down to match the front.
  17. don't forget gearing and axle upgrades
  18. yeah, southern deer are tiny. :shake:
  19. Do NOT try to rebuild the Peugeot transmission. parts are hard to come by, super expensive, and the trans has been known to fail within a few thousand miles of a rebuild. look into the AX-15 swap. In the mean time, make sure your gear oil is up to the proper level in the trans. My old Peugeot would have fits when the level got low.
  20. some photos I've found over the years:
  21. so swap all that stuff over. it's been done before. no need to slice up a perfectly good MJ when it all bolts in.
  22. Pete M

    Bolt pattern

    yes.
  23. Have fun!
  24. whichever kit you get, I would recommend new lower control arms for 3".
  25. tech questions should really go in the Tech forum so more guys will see it.
