  1. where abouts do you guys have your basic training?
  2. and you'll need an electric fuel pump, since the 3.4 doesn't have the place for the mechanical. Doesn't have to be very powerful if you're keeping the carb. and speaking of carb, I highly recommend upgrading the stock carb. Some may disagree, but I own a 2.8 and that stock carb could choke the life out of a lawnmower. :fs1:
  3. any AX-15 out of any Jeep can be made to work. 89.5 right up to 99. I've got a 99 TJ trans in my 88 MJ. you can try car-part.com for a junkyard search in your state.

photos? please tell me you took some photos. :D
  5. and weigh more than god's green earth. :ack: still sweet though.
  6. The search engine is pretty basic (it's freeware afterall) and for the life of me I can't seem to completely turn off the "common word" thing. :dunno: It's one of the reason I always suggest just asking your question. That's what we're hear for. P.S. good reading here: http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/a ... ?id=277008 http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Pro ... ect_XJ.htm
  7. nothing like a good backfire in the morning. :D
  8. I love my whip. The first time I fired it up I was talking to truckers waiting in line to cross the Ambassador bridge (to canada) 10-15 miles away. :D And that's with my mini CB. can't wait to see if the bigger unit is even better. Prior to that I had a handheld that sometimes didn't communicate with the truck directly in front of me. :fs1:
  9. IAC is right next to the TPS. Did you pull the CPS? sometimes it can get gunked up with rust attracted to the magnet.
  10. sweet. even has a place for a little basket up front. :D
  11. I believe so. my photo is of a stock MJ unit.
  12. checked the CPS, IAC and TPS yet?
  13. soooo, your qualification for this position is that you've run for a similar position? you running for president next? :D
  14. Instead of running those insanely stiff leafs, I would run MJ leafs with either an AAL in there, or fab yourself an anti-wrap bar to keep everything in check. what were you planning for an engine? What kind of wheeling are you expecting to do? Size of tire?
  15. Far as we know, the device is not serviceable. It'd likely be easier to remove it and splice in a T.
  16. I don't know all the details, but I know you'll need to splice in the trans computer.
  17. should, yes.
  18. best advice is "ask before you buy". We'll do our best to steer you right. there are plenty of minor changes in the details that can cause headaches.
  19. that seems excessive. I've never had much trouble with the hi-lift and the rear bumper of my MJ.
  20. you guys are all mounting these on springs, right? I've lost a couple to tree branches so far before I wised up. :(
  21. I would love to see just how you handle the responsibility. awww, too bad it's not a vote-in thing. :( bummer man
  22. the springs would be atrocious. they are way to stiff for your little truck. steering box wouldn't even fit. You really only need the axles. What gears are in them? what gears are you looking to run in the end?
  23. oh, and i don't remember seeing any skids.
  24. what engine and trans are you going with? without that info, you won't know what t-case to get. The axles will work fine with everything from a stock 4banger to a v8. bulletproof is bulletproof. I.E. you don't need a tough t-case because of your axles, you need a tough t-case because of your engine. I hope you're not contemplating using the engine from that 78. Chances are good that it's a 351 or 400 and neither engine would make a good swap candidate. :ack:
