bad trans computer?

adding lift changes the geometry of the system and rigs that are prone to DW will be much more sensitive to those changes. picking up DW after a lift is actually pretty common. :( Are your lower control arms matched to the lift height? losing the factory caster can be a tipping point.

But would they actually be stronger? I mean, they have way more moving parts in them. Ours aren't even "automatic" hubs, they are fixed. Can't get a much stronger design than that. If you're breaking unit bearings, then you may need to step up to a stronger axle. :dunno:

they'll be 6 on 5.5" and they will very likely have an insanely crappy gear ratio. The front matches up nicely with a rear 44 from a v6 95-ish Rodeo/Passport (which will have 4.10s or better and disk brakes).

the photo says something along the lines of "photo not of actual kit". looks like theri "kit" includes coils, shocks and AALs. Nick, did you read the "cheapest way to lift an MJ" thread?

I've experienced similar using FF. It's a rare occurrence for sure. :dunno:

You need to copy the address of the photo from the photo host site, paste it here, highlight it, then click on the IMG tag above the text box. IT can be tricky the fiorst time, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. :D You can generally (there are some exceptions) right click/copy/paste the address of any image you see online for sharing here. Sometimes the photo is garded, or too big, but usually it works. You say you take them out live, but what happens to them then? I know that hogs are pretty much a big problem wherever they go so I doubt they are released back into the wild. Is there a farm somewhere that takes 'em? slaughter house? Thems some tasty bacon strips right there. :D Also, be sure to either partition your hard drive, or (as I do) buy an external backup and keep it separate from the computer (in case of fire, theft or storm damage etc).

Sounds like a sweet project. :thumbsup: Welcome to the club! Opinions vary as to what prop valve should be used. Personally I'd go with the prop valve from a vehicle that had disks in it and do away with the height sensing valve in the rear of the MJ. Also, be sure to start a blog about your truck in the projects forum. and post lots of photos. :D

power can become an issue with bigger tires. especially with the 2.5L.

I haven't had any issues. It's tight though. :D

how is it that you know the CAD works? are you sure you're powering the front tires in 4-lo?

do you know what failed? have you read the picture posting thread?

I would check balljoints and wheelbearings next. also, tire imbalance is a known wobble inducer. :thumbsup:

As Eagle said, our trucks tend to rot from the inside-out, meaning that if you can see rust it's probably 10 times worse than it looks. make extra double sure that it's not doing that. there's a big difference between a rust-free rig that's derivable and a needs-the-same-amount-of-steel-surgery-as-if-it-had-actual-holes truck that's still in pieces. I smell a scam.

poly bushings have a bad tendency to squeak. make sure the shackles you get have a grease fitting so you can keep 'em quiet. :D I bet I can find 2" jeep spacers and Chevy drop shackles on ebay for half that kit.
