Just so I can keep it all straight for you guys, these are the recent issues at hand. Keep in mind while you read this that he just told us the code number. There's no provision in that particular code for "any ol' trailer" or even work trailers. :dunno: code part 2: (2) If the recreational equipment or vehicle is parked or stored outside of a garage, it shall be parked or stored to the rear of the front building line of the lot. The setback requirement in the side or rear yard shall be a minimum of two feet. (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (2) of this section, recreational equipment and vehicles may be parked on the premises except on the front lawn for a period of not more than 72 hours. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Accusation: Parking on the street is limited to a continuous 48 hour time frame. Code he quoted: (1) A person shall not park a vehicle on any street for the principal purpose of doing any of the following: ... (e) Storage for more than 48 continuous hours. aftermarket AAL? as a general rule of thumb they will produce roughly half the advertised lift when installed in an MJ.

am i the only one that thinks that after all the hard work that Bo put into that truck, it almost seems a shame to tear it all apart again for a different engine. :dunno:

no such luck. :( but on the plus side, there far less chance of injuring the seal upon installation and then having to do it twice. :D

and so what about all those ads touting Mobil-1 full syn as the oil that came to you in your brand new high end car... :hmm: My CRD Libby has had Mobil-1 since day one as far as I know.:dunno:

gotcha. :thumbsup: Shouldn't have any real trouble finding a decent solid 2wd/4.0 down south for under 1500. floors are a tricky issue though, as any MJ anywhere can suffer from them. :(

Moved the 90 back to the parking lot and turned the 88 around. man that spool sure leaves a mess on the pavement. :D

So today our code enforcer politely informs us that there's a 48 hr rule on our driveway (which, since we are on the corner, is actually part of the side easement). Kinda knew this was coming, since he's looking for ways to harass us. :fs1: Lived here for 34 years now and it's never been an issue. Heck, the 88 was parked on the apron and unmoved for over 2 years straight. :D Looks like I'll be moving them back to the parking lot and putting it on the list to ask for an official variance at the next city meeting. Still waiting on a response from the code enforcer to the doctor's last letter.

I would also plan my route to stay as close to populated areas as possible. Lots o' empty space out there.

If you can foot the cost, the full replacement metric ton packs would be awesome. :D Other people that have installed them have reported 2-3" of lift.

Our trucks tend to sit lower in the front, so typically they need less rear lift to make for a level truck. Where does the front rub? stock rims or other rims?

They are fighting to get back out. :shake: I hate rust. I painted it last year. Still thinking about doing a camo job on it. There's no way to touch up the "paint" I used with more of the same, so I figure I can just blend all the trouble spots into the camo. :yes:

how old are the hoses? got an E-fan? does it work? I wired mine to come on with a switch so I could run it non-stop. You're going to be driving through some intense heat. Bring extra water. At least 5 gallons. And make sure you have a way of charging your cell phone in the truck. And the most important thing... gather up emergency numbers along your path. :thumbsup:

totally up to you. :cheers: If you go for it, plan ahead and be prepared for the typical problems. put extra care into the cooling system. Now is a great time to flush if the fluid is old, and to replace old hoses and maybe the pressure bottle. Do you have metric wrenches and have a torx set?

leave 'em or yank 'em, that's your call. just be sure to plug any exposed ends so that you don't have a vacuum leak. :thumbsup:

update: everything is now moved, even the canoe. still waiting on a new reply from the city (asking again for specification about the exact problems he apparently sees) before I decide my next course of action...
