  1. factory anti-theft issue?
  2. yup, totally depends on how cheap you can get parts. frequently it's cheaper to buy an entire XJ and then part out what you don't use.
  3. didn't the guys on Extreme 4x4 get tires for their bobbed deuce for 100 each?

I built that before I even owed a digi camera, let alone before I thought I should share with the world. but i did snap lots of photos. :D someday I might actually get around to putting together a build thread. :shake: in the meantime, some photos are here: picturetrail.com/petermontie

  7. the shortest stock MJ rear shaft would be 41.25" long (4x4/swb/4.0/aw4/d-44)
  8. so you've tried it?
  9. I'm not entirely sure my 86 would do 90mph if it was dropped out the back of a plane.
  10. 95-01 will have disks and available 4.10s
  11. swb Comanches have a foot more wheelbase than an XJ and so the XJ rear shafts will be a foot too short. When i converted to 4wd, I just had my rear shaft cut down to size.
  12. 31s will work fine on factory rims on a stock height 4x4. they may rub on the control arms at full lock, but there are ways around that (adjust the steering stops or swap in WJ lower control arms). if you go with aftermarket, get the most backspacing you can get. stock is around 5.25". for a 2" lift, you can get away with poly pucks up front, and then either longer shackles or an AAL in the rear. for 2", your brake lines, shocks, and steering will all work ok. you may need to adjust the steering though to fix the alignment or to center the steering wheel. my 4x4 90 with 15x7 Canyon rims (from a ZJ), 31" tires, stock height and WJ lower control arms.
  13. 2wd or 4wd? aftermarket rims will lessen the size of tire you can run without a lift because they have less backspacing and will push the tires into the flares when turning. and welcome! :waving:
  14. makes sense to me.
  15. Possibly a Cherokee Limited? Also where the seats came out of? leather... woodgrain... idiot lights?
  16. a reaction generally requires some real medicine. but there are a plethora of ways to relieve bee sting pain. raw onion is one that works. just cut a slice and put it on the area. when I tried it, the pain went away instantly. take it off and the pain returned. it was like a smelly on-off switch for the pain. :dunno:
  17. doesn't have much bearing on the OP, but this is the current setup on my 88:
  18. for plain bee stings? or for hives?
  19. got 4wd?
  20. still, it's very good to know that. if you had been further away from help, you might have died. :(
  21. my 'puter is pluggin' away in a similar manner as my 86 MJ. It "works", but you'd better not be in a hurry. :D I'm hoping that the extra ram and 2.0 ports will make it less painful for the user.
  22. gotta be something with photobucket. the image's size on my screen is 639x476. nothing wrong with that size. the limit at the forums is like 1100 across.
  23. nope. Renix was just MJs and XJs. YJs went straight from carbs in 90 to Chrysler injection in 91. ZJs didn't pop up til 93. did you post a wanted ad in the classifieds here?
  24. how do you know it was hydrolocked and not simply stalled from water shorting out something? did you find water inside the cylinders?
  25. 2.0 ports are in and they are blazing fast. :D transferred 1 gig in under a minute instead of like 10. still waiting on my wifi antenna and ram. oh, and it looks like my computer was built in 2000. still hummin' along. :typing: (loudly I might add. still need to swap out that fan)
