  1. Let us know how its going. Want to do the same thing in my 92 since its a pain to shift now after crushing my entire right upper body.
  2. Look into SOA lifts and grab yourself either a cheap 8.25 or do it right and get an 8.8 with 4:10 gears. You'll only have to regear the front and save yourself some cash. D30's with 4:10s are like finding a 4 leaf clover being held by a dinosaur in a diamond mine while drinking good beer in Oklahoma. Get some spacers for the back wheels and upgrade the brake pads then call it a day.
  3. Damn just got a set about 6 months ago and haven't even installed them yet. MT 3/2 w/ 1 inch extra lift military wrapped. Paid about 500 shipped.
  4. Any pics of the cable connected to the PDC? Remember having some issues with another kit. Go the 4.0 HO if it matters. L type bracket connected by two bolts.
  5. Damn for some reason I thought MJ shackles were 6 inches not 5. So it'd be 3 over stock and half that toward lift. Meeh might be a bit too much trying to avoid the 4+ inch lift and all the things involved with it.
  6. I might be wrong was just over at NAXJA reading up and the Cherokee guys were saying they're getting 2 inches over stock. Figured since they get about an inch of lift off MJ shackles it'd only be around an inch of lift on ours total.
  7. Purchased some new MT military wrapped springs with an increased arch for my Comanche. Throwing in an 8.8 along with the tow hitch from the merchant here. Looking at these shackles http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Products/RLS.html which will give me about an inch of lift at the lowest setting. Trying to keep the jeep around 3.5 inches and it's sitting at 3 over stock with an 8.25 in it spring under. The tubes from the 8.8 will drop it a little and the springs will settle. Anyone have experience with the shackles by chance? Or any reasons why I shouldn't run a longer shackle besides axle wrap? Hoping the military springs and heavier spring rate will negate it specially since its only an inch over stock length. Thanks
  8. WOOOOO think I found it. lokar ec-81fc should work if I'm reading everything correctly. Sorry about the repetitive post.
  9. 1992 LWB 4.0 AX15 NP242 Was doing some googling and thought I read somewhere there is an adapter to hook up the ford ebrake to the stock MJ lines? Anyone happen to know where I could get my hands on something like that? I can't find the page again to save my life and starting to think it was a hallucination hahaha. Thanks
  10. There is a skid plate with a few bolts on it. Not hard to do. The tank is held on by 3 straps (or 2 depending on the tank size) Need a deep socket or a ratcheting wrench. Drain the tank first with either a manual pump or unhook the feed line out of the tank and drain it that way. Even if it has a little bit of gas its going to be a pain. Unplug the sending unit before dropping it. Once you do that drop the tank just a little and reach up top to unplug the breather tubes. I'd drop the rear driveshaft also but not necessary. I'm short so without the driveshaft I fit pretty easily to keep it balanced while a buddy lowered the jack. Get a new metal tank off Ebay it'll come with the new rings you need. I used vasoline to keep the rubber gasket in place when I put the pump back on. Put the new tank on a bench or back of the truck, put a little bit of gas in it then put everything together. Tip it over to make sure its not leaking before putting it back up in the truck. Good luck
  11. There's a lot of movement from what I've read.
  12. Those side rails would be awesome. Haven't seen anyone that makes metal flat fenders for the rear on comanches either. Awesome looking work
  13. Picked up some 2001 XJ manual doors to swap into my 92 MJ. Was wondering if I could get the ignition cylinder rekeyed to match the doors? Or even the doors to match the old key?
  14. I can send you mine. Sorry auto correct
  15. Take a coat hanger or thin wire even speaker cord. Think 550 cord will work. Anyway.... Or you can send me a msg with your mailing address and u can send you mine when I find it hahaha
  16. Damn good deal paid 160 for just my bar
  17. Man I hope you're right. I decided to go grab some beer and lost motivation haha
  18. Man I hope you're right. I decided to go grab some beer and lost motivation haha
  19. I'm going to hook up my driveshaft and use that. The angle finder I have is stupid big and won't fit
  20. Do hates follow the body line? That gap would drive me nuts
  21. Just got my springs put in and set down the axle on jack stands. Looking at the angle of the yoke I'm a little worried. Maybe just nothing going wrong so far (slight difference in the welded perches but u bolts evened it out) has me paranoid. Anyone know the angle of the rear driveshaft on a stock truck? Mine feels like its pointing too far up. If it is how much trouble am I in with it being a LWB? Probably not a great pic but any suggestions on what to snap photos of to be sure let me know
  22. Welp here it is. Axle is sitting on jack stands and jack stands removed from the frame. Have another concern now but I'll hit tech section for that
  23. Nice! Got one the other day. Posted up on the Comanche Facebook page the next day and got banned hahahaha
  24. Someone had passed along they give 3 inches and settle about 3/4. Waiting on ordering some Ironman Fab shackles until I figure out what the height is. Shooting for a 3 inch lift total. I just got cut loose early for work so time to start playing!!! Will check in shortly and let you guys know how its going.
  25. Bushings seem like a different size on the large side and the small side the bolt hole seems larger than stockers. After tomorrow I'm on leave until thursday so plenty of time.
