New territory for me since I usually try to stick to stock stuff. Went out on a limb and got Cav Fab short arms (uppers and lower) with heim joints. Not sure what they're like performance wise but on a daily driver it sounds like someone is smacking everything with a sledge hammer while driving. Was hoping there was something out there to replace the ends with regular rubber. I have the measurements for the adjustable bolt end just couldnt find anything VIA google. Everything seems to be the same type of metal heim joint.

So no dice on the exhaust. I have after market control arms with the heim joint ends and starting to think they're the problem. Can't remember the name of the company just remember they're pretty well know for having bad shipping times. Anyway the axle side brackets on the uppers always seemed like there was way too much of a gap but not sure if that would make it sound like something in my truck bed is rolling around but in the front axle. Will do. I had part of the wooden handle on a steel brush shoved in there until I get time to cut and reweld the exhaust hangers. Never put it back in. I'm gonna be sooooo pissed if thats whats causing it

Ok installed new a new axle, gears, shafts, brakes, calipers, rotors, ball joints, shocks, control arms, u joints (both drive/axle shaft), steering etc etc etc. Basically only thing old is the unibody. The problem I'm having is I'm getting a grinding noise that seems like its going away with pressing the brakes but its hard to tell. I jacked up the front end, removed tires, re torqued everything down and spun the wheels but nothing. Not a sound. Opened the diff to check the gears and they still look new. No metal in the fluid via magnet and squishing the fluid around in my fingers. Pulled the front drive shaft but no dice. The pads look good and the rotors arent warped. Shocks are nice and tight top and bottom. Even went through all the steering except the upper track bar bolt. Looking for suggestions. Its a banging/grinding noise. Only thing I can think of is the exhaust but it sounds too deep compared to the tin can rattle.

Factory front winch mount

If so I'd missed the release. Their site has had the coming soon ad on it for awhile now. Gave up about 6 months ago I think. Tried emailing a few times with no reply. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Wanted to follow this. Boost has had their hidden winch 'coming soon' for years. You can look up the thread on Naxja or jeepforum. I doubt it'll ever go into production so definitely interested in this. Specially if it can be modified to fit a 9k+ Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Heading back to town now. I don't have an oil temp gauge but that'd actually be pretty awesome. I plan on swapping to an aw4 with a cooler and gauge if I ever figure this out. Going to hook the system up to a vacuum tomorrow morning when my shop opens unless oriellys has one for rental. I'm honestly thinking about ditching the zj fan and putting the stock electric fan back in. Only two parts that are really "upgrades" left. Guy that does injectors on the forums said he would test my injectors for me. Never wanted to get back from the woods so badly. Just got to remember not to start a project before leaving on vacation hahaha Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

I've burped the system just sitting level on the driveway but I'll definitely jack up the driver side when I get back. Think my buddy has some vacuum system that might work also. I think I might give the cleaning detergent a shot. Was hoping with the rebuild the guy would've cleaned it before installing new parts but who knows. Running out of options. The idle settling at 500rpms after a few seconds has been bothering me also. Used to be closer to 800ish. Guess it's time to start pulling the harness apart and inspecting/testing wires. Like I said coolant is flowing. Temps wouldn't be dropping at all. Each of the radiators were flow tested before installing. Water jackets were the first thing that came to mind so the head was pulled. While it was out it was slightly out of tolerance so I picked up a new one. Each thermostat was tested using an IR thermometer and the only one that was off enough to notice was the Mopar one. Bottom line was reinforced with a spring. New hoses all around and the heater core was backflushed. Coolant over flow was replaced just due to how much crap was in it since it was original. Haven't been throwing random parts aside from the csf radiator, clutches for the fans and thermostats. Great input though. I've been dealing with this issue for over a year non stop and it's not my first jeep. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -
That's what I'm going with. Boost stuff wouldn't work since the 96 np242 is off enough to where it won't engage. Was on the phone/email with the owner over an entire weekend trying to figure it out. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Hahaha inlaws and wife drug me out to middle of nowhere Oklahoma or I'd be out there drunk or not lol. I got em back by running around in my American flag silkies (Ranger panties) all day. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

I'm about 12 beers and half a bottle of Irish whiskey in but I'll read and respond tomorrow morning lol. Thanks guys for chiming in. I love this truck but the hit on the paycheck is making it difficult to justify when it's on stands more than the road. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

So pinching the upper hose should drop the idle? Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Continues. I can have it on from a cold start to almost red. Doesn't make much difference. Only thing seems to move the needle down is those higher rpms pushing the pump. It almost feels like the radiator isn't cooling but it's been the same with all 3 radiators. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

I've thrown in a fresh relay but no idea where the control unit is. I'd love to get rid of this stupid switch hahaha don't really do any water crossing after I sunk it a long time ago Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

It's not. I made a spring for the new one just incase. On start up and idle revving to 4krpm in the driveway it's solid. Used some welding gloves to try and squeeze it at temp. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

No cat (I know illegal) but the rest is good. We tested it with smoke at Firestone off the books lol. Plugs looked brand new Monday when I pulled them to test spark. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

My relay or switch is running a engine code so I put it on a manual switch. Ill check the speeds though. How would I go about fixing something like that? Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

I have and the compression test came back normal. I don't have the numbers on me but they were almost all the same. I'll lift the cap side when I get back and run it a few times without the cap on. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Temp goes down when accelerating around town but pushing 3k rpms for a longer period of time it creeps back up. I haven't taken it far but doing 55 on one of the longer back roads (about 3 miles) I noticed it started rising. Off the stop signs it'll drop quite a bit. Eventually it'll stay above 220 or so even driving around town. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Weak to be honest. Was thinking if it was there's too much heat causing the block to warm up faster. Pump is working at the correct pressure least by the fuel rail. Only thing I haven't done is tested the fuel injectors since the rebuild. Maybe some of the wires were broken and one isn't firing correctly. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk -

Not since the rebuild anyway. Was torn down when the head gasket was replaced. The old radiator was in good condition just dirty. Fan shroud is still there also Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
