Running a 4 inch lift and looking for some suggestions on soft/smooth riding shocks. Have a couple gravel roads around here and can feel every little pebble. Almost done rebuilding the front axle and ordering all new stuff figured shocks would be something to start looking at. Daily driver and my body can't take the jolting around like it used to lol. Thanks guys. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Load / Height Sensing Valve Delete / Bypass

Its when its not working proper that theres a benefit or when you do an axle swap and don't want to add it to an 8.8/8.25 etc. I still have mine somewhere but it was inop. My back brakes work much better even before the 8.8 swap. About to put on black magic pads in the front though so I can kiss the windshield when I stop like my old FSJ hahahaha -
Wasn't sure if there was an aftermarket rubber mount with a better reputation than those. I ended up ordering one yesterday from Ebay lol. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Need a tranmssion mount. Have brand new OE rubber mounts but having trouble finding a rubber transmission mount with a good review. Would a poly mount screw up stuff? Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

You guys suggest putting it in the upper or lower hose? Feel like the upper would be more effective but the product suggests lower. Seems if the coolant is flowing too fast from the radiator to the motor you'd want to slow it down coming out of the top. Might be completely off here though.

I'm still working out some kinks with my wiring harness or it wouldn't be going all the time. Got a new harness though since it's causing multiple issues. The thermostat was working fine when I tested it. If the restrict doesn't work I'll try another. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

1992 4.0 4x4 etc New thermostat, radiator, rebuilt motor, overflow bottle, water pump, hoses, head gasket (after rebuild), no exhaust leaks (all new to the tail pipe), 1998 XJ electric fan on a switch (always on), new clutch on the mechanical fan, rebuilt stock injectors, new o2 sensor/MAP/CPS/TPS/IAC, coolant temp sensor (front and back) etc I'm sure you get the point. So the temps will hit 215 or so then drop back down to 160ish. After that it'll bounce back and forth for 30 min or so until it settles at 200 or so. It's been pretty cold around here so not a big deal but was having this problem last summer and watching it almost over heat. I've never had a vehicle (including this one prior to the rebuild) that bounced the temp around so much so figured I'd ask the experts. I've tested just about everything including the lower radiator hose to make sure it wasn't collapsing. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Keep in mind too my axle is an 8.8 so the tube is a bit larger. Didn't account for that. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

I purchased from GS awhile back and can't complain. Got the MT with an extra inch arch and military wrapped. Paired with some OME shocks and just put on some Iron Man 4x4 Fab adjustable shackles. Back rides better than the front now. Got just under 2 inches of lift from factory height with just the springs.

It is but the 2004ish years they started reinforcing the casting to prevent it. Those are the ones that are sold as 'new' and don't have the same issues. Putting one on a 1992 would involve having to port the intake which is a waste of time for me. Not going to be racing just don't want my vehicle over heating on the way to work lol

What's involved in swapping an 8.8" rearend?
SBpunk replied to lcoutback's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I reused my shock/ubolt plates, lokar ebrake adapters, flange adapter for the driveline (didn't need to shorten or lengthen), stayed spring under but got new longer 3 hole spring plates and shocks were still within tolerance length wise. Hardest part was the driveline angle with the spring perches. Cost me a case of beer to have it welded together. Definitely worth it specially if you plan on re-gearing. I found a 410 LSD for 100 bucks with disk brakes. -
Appreciate it. Slightly concerned with Clearwater with the stream of negative reviews lately but not many options out there with the reputation they used to have. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Ordered a remaned 7120 head from Clearwater today and the sales guy was trying to push a new 0331 on me. I was skeptical so I went with the reman. I wanted to get your guys opinion since I was under the impression that the intake needed to be cleared for it to flow correctly?

Yup that's why it was a waste. Enough renix motors out there for me to get the 50$ back though. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Broken shoulder. Feels like someone is driving a chisel into my collar bone every time I shift. Either way doesn't matter was a 1990 transmission. 50 bucks down the drain oh well. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Going to raid the local pull apart in okc when it warms up a bit. They're behind the lower dash piece if I remember correctly. Think the aw4 has a separate harness. Least I hope so and don't need an entire new dash harness/fuse block. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Yup awhile back gotta refresh once I get my hands on it. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Picking up a 94 aw4 that I'll rebuild on a bench. Going to swap it with my ax15 and wanted to hear any tips or advice. I have a 4.0 1993 wiring harness for under the hood. I have to look up the other parts like the TCU. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Spring under has less of a chance for spring warp but there are things you can do to prevent it. It also allows easier access to the bed specially for daily drivers. You can get cheap WJ control arms up front to clear 31s and don't have to worry about adjustables. Spring over you get the higher lift. Usually comes with bigger tires which means bigger brakes, longer control arms, shocks, coil springs, steering etc. Honestly for a DD I'd stay under until you're ready to upgrade everything.
