^^^truth...sadly. To that end, I picked up a cool little .22 semi auto rifle (Mossberg 702) for myself over black Friday for cheap. My wife has an AR in .22 flavor, and we have copious amounts of ammo for it, so I got it as something to keep up my range time with until other ammo prices come back down out of the stratosphere (and, if you can even find it). I added a cheap scope and a sling to it and have put about 600 rounds thru it so far. Good fun, for cheap, and it keeps me in practice. I did go back to the gun shop today. All they had left from the other day was a crap-ton of Hornaday critical defense HP's, they sold slam out of all the other 9mm's they had last week, including some crappy aluminum case import junk. The Hornaday they did, and still do, have is $35 per box......of 25. I think most everyone is fed up with the "shortages" and ungodly price gouging and have said enough is enough. At least around here anyway. And thats not a bad thing in my book.

Great post Yank. I shot a bow years ago but sold all my stuff off when we moved down here to VA. Wish I wouldn't have....I've been thinking about getting back into the sport. On ammo, my local gun shop actually had some 9mm the other day when I stopped in to pick up a sling mount for the shotgun. I was able to grab a couple boxes, then went back a bit later and got 2 more. I'm going to run down this morning to see if they have any more.

I don't believe the AW4 has a weep hole drilled in the rear flange (to let you know that inner seal is bad, unlike the manual transmissions). Not saying yours might not be bad, but I'd do a little looking to see where the leak might be coming from otherwise. It doesn't help that the crossmember and trans mount are right there in that area, making it difficult to actually find the source. Both the transmission and TC use ATF (but don't share), so it really could be either one. If you're leaking that bad, check the fluid level in both....that might give a quick clue where to start looking.

100% yes. I used an 89 engine harness sans the C101 when I converted my 87 2 5 MJ to 4.0. It was completely plug and play. Zero issues

One of the local junkyards i frequent here is very close to an Army base (Ft. Lee). I'm not sure if its from there, or local outdoor shooting ranges, including local and state PD's, but they get in vehicles absolutely RIDDLED with bullet holes. Like Swiss cheese, through-and-through. I was shocked the first couple times I saw them out in the field....thought it was a gangster type assassination, until I kept seeing them showing up on a regular basis. Ill have to snap a couple pics the next time I'm down there. Lol.

Sort of a tangent......I was our unit's wrecker operator way back in the day. Drove an ancient M543......because noone else wanted to drive it Good times were had until one day all of the bellhousing bolts loosened up on a motor march and the trans basically slipped off the back end of the engine. The irony of my tow truck being towed back to base by another tow truck (10T HEMMT) was not lost on me that day, lol.

There's one spot up in western PA on the route we travel that is absolutely picture-postcard perfect when it snows. Only problem is that it's on the side of a mountain and you're so busy trying not to die driving to try to get a picture

Welp....$600 in, $600 out. $554 actually out.....I stimulated the lical economy at the emergency vet yesterday on garage kitty. She thanked me by darting out of the garage this morning and disappearing into the neighbors yard for a couple hours. So I went to the gym for and early workout. Got back and she mosied back in like nothing ever happened. Ate a half bowl of dry food and proceeded to fall asleep in her bed. Thats the first bit of food she's had since Wednesday. I think she gonna be alright👍

Plan on new U bolts for the axle. Don't try to reuse your old D35 or the (new to you) D44 ones. Might as well swap new u-joints into your driveshaft as well, since it'll be off the truck. If you have a single tube rear driveshaft, you can have it cut down. If you have the big old "tube-in-tube" style, driveline shops won't risk trying to cut it. There's a rubber isolator in it that can't be replaced. You'll need a new single tube shaft.

Oh, I want it alright. But, no sense in spending it on anything non-essential until we see what impact all of this "free" money has on our taxes. We might have a couple meals out at some local (non-chain) restaurants, and tip very generously.

^^^so much that. I absolutely can't stand stepping on a bit of anything on the kitchen floor when barefoot or in socks. I sweep constantly, like every day and my wife always comments about me sweeping too much. I just tell her to standby and see the pile of crap I end up with when I'm done (that usually shuts her up when she sees how "clean" the floor actually wasn't).

I'd mix up a small batch of ATF and acetone. Let it sitting the way it is and pour a bunch of it over the axle stub and let it sit for a few hours/overnight. Then try carefully tapping the stub (thread the axle nut back on flush with the end so you don't peen over the threads.

Update...the spray stuff worked like a charm.. Ill probably go the whole way around the house and give every switch a tiny spurt now, since I bought a whole can for $1.99. Just some good old PM.

No, it's the plastic switch itself. If I gently push the switch to the left while flipping it up it's silent. Also doesn't make any squeak when you switch it off. Like I said it works just fine other than the annoying squeak it makes flipping it on. I'm off to Home Despot after work today, they have that spray in stock (or so their website says, anyway.....).

Full disclosure, I'm a full on AC voltage nope-er. I can do simple things (hang a light fixture, change an outlet) but thats about it. The light switch in our main bathroom squeaks when you flip it on. It bugs me to no end. Works just fine except for the highly annoying sound of something that seems like its desperately crying out for a shot of some kind of lube. Would I end up burning my house down and killing a bus load of kindergarten nuns if I gave the flipper thingy a TINY shot of silicone spray (or whatever else)? I could just replace the whole thing with a new one, but the cheap side of me hasn't fully accepted that option just yet.
