  1. Sorry, I got sidetracked on Friday after work and then had to go pull a 4.0 for my neighbor’s jeep yesterday…..here’s a couple shots of the AX15 mount and plate. From the passenger side: Image Not Found From the rear: Image Not Found From the driver side: Image Not Found HTH, Jeff
  2. might be a longshot, but the speedo cable is secured underneath by a clip at the upper control arm bolt. The clip could have come loose/rusted off and the speedo cable could be bouncing off the floorboard. Happened to mine once, drove me nutz trying to figure it out  Jeff
  3. you should be able to make one out of plate steel. I would just mock it all up with the crossmember and mount bolted to it, see where the mount bolts hit the plate and drill it out. As best as I can describe it, the stock plate has about the same shape as the little plastic cover on top of the relay center/ignition module under the hood, but you don't really need style points :D The other thing that the stock plate does is provide a mount for the exhaust hanger @ the cat converter flange. You'll have to figure out some way to support the exhaust there, to keep it off the crossmember. Jeff edit: I don't have a real pic (I can take one of mine after work tonight if you want), but here's the diagram from the parts manual. You're missing part #'s 19, 21, 22, and 29 (overall, part #20 shown in the box on the right) Image Not Found
  4. there's a plate (that you're missing) that bolts into those four holes on the tranny, and the mount bolts to the plate with 2 bolts. Jeff
  5. where's your driveway? I need to go park mine in it for a couple of days  Jeff
  6. make sure you get them to give you a written estimate if you let them replace one....... enjoy the read: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14356 Jeff

    color test....

Fun for hours :fs1: :headpop: :grrrr: http://www.humorsphere.com/fun/8787/colortest.swf Jeff
  8. you'll need to use the hubs, rotors and calipers as a complete set from either axle (preferably the '99 as the hubs most likely will have alot fewer miles on them). Mixing and matching those parts from old axles to new doesn't work very well as the hubs were redesigned as well as the rotor hats. Jeff
  9. yup, the black interior was AMC years only, up to '87. Jeff
  10. I've got the tiny one in my '87 too. Even though my sender is a bit whacky (HO on a Renix that reads backwards), and was a little off even when it was stock, the most I've ever been able to stuff into it when close to "E" is 11.5 gallons. Jeff
  11. I thought I had a few too many BL's when I looked at that the first time..... :chillin: JB, you doin' some kinda IFS in the front of that? Or does the tube axle harpoon it's way thru the engine block? Jeff
  12. if you can't figure the year, or if the axle tags are missing, check the tranny. If it's an AW4, then it'll have them. If it's a 904/909, the axles will either be 3.55 or 3.73. If they are early models, and they have the selec-trac NP 228/229 TC, there's a center-mounted vaccuum switch in the console where the change holder thingy is on later models. They are handy little switches to have. Jeff
  13. If the two autos are an 87-89 model, they should have 4.56's in them. In addition to the axles, the bellhousing, torque converter, and TCU are highly coveted items. Jeff
  14. You left out halushki, kielbassi, and other pierogi variations (sauerkraut, leichvar)..... thread hijack <>
  15. Sam/Bear, Wahoo is another one of us transplanted Pittsburgh Yankees down here in the south.......except he isn't a big fan of pierogies  :D Jeff
  16. I probably have one of them, or can grab one from the local 'yard for you if you want.....I swapped one into mine a long time ago only because I wanted the headlight warning buzzer (I tend to leave my lights on all the time). You'll find two different schools of thought regarding that chime module....folks either love them (like me) or hate them. I've already sent one of them to one of the club members who lives in Argentina ;) Jeff
  17. totally eliminated mine from the circuit on my 4.0 swap.....don't even notice that it's not there  Jeff
  18.           CW......if the doc puts you on any kinda heart meds, I need to borrow some ;) Jeff
  19. save me some, I didn't have time to make any Weather Report = same as Wahoo Location = mi casa Guests = none, just the wife and the cats Menu = grilled lamb chops, chicken wings, shrimp cocktail, feta cheese stuffed olives, deviled eggs, cherry peppers stuffed with proscuitto and pecorino, summer sausage with asst. cheese and crackers, some celery and carrot sticks to keep it all healthy, Bud Light, Blue Moon, and mango margaritas Prediction... Black and Gold, 24-10
  20. Drain plug is the lower one in the center of the pic, fill plug is to the right of it and slightly above. Add fluid to the fill plug hole until it starts to dribble back out, then reinstall plug. I use a fill hose I bought for a couple bucks at one of the auto parts places, it's a clear hose attached to a threaded cap that screws onto the bottle. The cap twists to open and close the flow, so you can get everything into position, then twist the cap to fill. Best $2 I ever spent.... Jeff Image Not Found
  21. Monroe part #32207 Jeff
  22. couple tips FWIW.... DON'T use an air impact to tighten the clutch cover bolts....use a torque wrench in steps with a cross-pattern DO use locktite on the clutch cover bolts DO replace the slave while you're in there, if it's internal. Not a bad idea to replace the RMS and check the welch plug in the back of the block and replace (but you'll need to pull the flywheel to do this) DO replace the flywheel and the pilot bearing if they are anything less than 100% Jeff
  23. That's what I planned on doing, but didn't happen. Drove home shock-less. It was, in a word, unsettling.....but I made it fine. Not sure about your situation since you already have built in lift (AAL or otherwise), but I can tell ya from experience that stock length shocks with an SOA will not work. Let me look in the morning to see if there's a part # on the shocks I got. I know they are Monroe's, and they fit a Toyota application, but I can get more specific detail when it's light out. IIRC, they were only like $15-$20 each, not bad for a temporary work-around. Jeff
  24. I may be from the 'burgh Don.....but even I have some standards I won't lower myself to :ack: Bud Lights and margaritas (with Herradura tequila) for me Bad thing is I have to be up and on the other side of the state Monday morning for a work meeting. Pray for me, will ya? Jeff
  25. Bookmarked  Already got the eats lined up for the game, but I might just whip that up for the meet/greet and new house party this summer  Jeff
