  1. Agree. The boy can hit though, and plays a good 3rd base too. So who cares what he looks like.
  2. 5-0 Astros in the 2nd - Darvish gets beat up again, only worse this time. He just cemented his legacy in baseball history. It's silent in Chavez Ravine. Kershaw's up already in the third.
  3. If both elements test good (sounds like they do), then the high-temp thermostat is probably shot. It's the clip-on unit with the red button on the top element. Hit the red reset button and try again. Looks like this:
  4. So the brake release below is the one you used?

    Washer nozzle

Yeah, these nozzles were ~$15/ea new from Mopar - rip city. They were the same p/n throughout all the XJ years, so any of them will work.
  6. The pressure both starters will face in a World Series game seven has got to be huge. More so I think for the visiting team's pitcher. I wouldn't be surprised to see both Verlander and Kershaw make bail-out appearances at some point..

  8. What's the part number? I don't believe it.
  9. OME doesn't advertise or guarantee the amount of lift for any of their springs. Several of us have used the OME 930's and based on reported results the lift usually ends up at around 2" over what the truck was before the install after settling out. And the ride and handling improvement over the stockers is outstanding.
  10. Looks like Yu Darvish will start for LA; he blew up on his last start in game 3. Let's hope that happens again. Roll Astros!
  11. Weird the starter solenoid didn't click. Were the battery posts very corroded? But anyhow, glad it's starting for you.
  12. Oh-oh, bottom of the sixth and the Dodgers are starting to knock Verlander around a bit, 2-1 Dodgers. But no worries Cruiser. Your boy Bellinger struck out to end the inning. I don't expect Verlander back in for the seventh. EDIT: Not Verlander's best outing tonight, Dodgers win 3-1. But that's okay, we got a game seven final tomorrow. This does happen often.
  13. Probably - makes sense.
  14. I'm confused. Your signature says it's an 88 Pioneer, ~30 years old, and above you state "really not driven even a 100 miles a year". So does this mean the truck odometer indicates ~3000 miles? Is the odo working? Did you happen to run a Carfax report or similar before you purchased it? True mileage is the first thing I'd check.
  15. Roger that. What can you expect from two bulbs from China for less than $20. They are still working in my truck amazingly.
  16. Try cleaning the crud and rust out of your sockets.
  17. That probably is all you know Lemons. Your moniker does describe your truck too.
  18. Wow, that is nice. It has just as much functionality (if not more) than the factory OBD1 monitoring system with a display at your fingertips.

  20. The keys are both methods are fine for normal automotive wiring if done correctly using the proper technique and tools. And both take a little practice to do it right. We be done now.
  21. Cheaper and faster.
  22. After 20+ years doing electrical and electronics work in Cal Labs, Avionics, and telecomms, I've done a little soldering. And there was no choice since we had to follow MIL-SPEC regulations for grounding, bonding, shielding and termination procedures. In a stretch test of a crimped vs. soldered wire butt connection the solder joint wins every time. I know crimp connectors and procedures have improved, but as you say, to do it right you need quality specialized crimping tools and connectors, not the Autozone blue, red, and yellow junk and pliers. Too expensive. Soldering is a lot cheaper and is the best bang for the buck for non-critical automotive wiring. Besides, I'm too old to change.
