Post lift tire location problem

Drive it. Let them settle down, and it will get better. Personally I would have preferred their lower lift springs, but that's just me. Tom's explanation makes good sense. -

Is the closed end of the shackle facing rearward, as in this pic? I don't have stock shackles anymore so I can't use the side view. -

What's the measurement of your shackles from eye-to-eye? Can you post a closeup of the shackle(s)? -

The owner of Hell Creek is Tom Lardner. When he was manufacturing his own springs all was well and everyone liked them. He's always been a good guy and will make things right. He is also a member here - give him the url for this post topic and have him read through it. Post back the results..... -

I have General Spring MT springs with a slightly longer shackles (~3/4" longer than stock) from Teraflex. Used them because they are greasable, and to make up for the MT springs settling a bit over time. No issues, nice ride and handling. If your shackles look similarly orientated, I'm at a loss as to your problem. Exactly how much lift did these springs give you? Did you measure height before and after? -

Did you get any paperwork from Hell Creek for your MJ lift springs? If so, what is the spring part number on the invoice? They used to make their own springs, but now they are just resellers. -

Yes. the rear shackles should be angled down toward the rear bumper. The more weight you have on them the greater the rearward angle will be. I asked where are your are your shackles because you should be able to see them from the side view at the angle you took your picture. Here's a better pic; the right side of the pic is the rear end on the truck. -

4.0L HO Header Fitment Issue
HOrnbrod replied to kryptronic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The flange thickness is just a red c... h... under 1/2", maybe 7/16". The washers needed no grinding. And yes, I had it on with the square exhaust manifold, then switched it to the horseshoe manifold a couple of years later. All-in-all it's been on there for 13+ years, no leaks ever. The Mike Leach headers all have the Mopar Performance Pxxxxxxxx part number stamped on the first flange runner. They look like this when new: -

If price is not an issue, keep an eye out for a Mike Leach long tube header - they pop up on Ebay occasionally. These were retailed back in the day by Mopar Performance. I think John Jackson found one recently on Ebay. And whatever you get, be sure to incorporate a flex joint as close to the header collector as possible to prevent exhaust system cracks. https://comancheclub.com/forums/topic/49000-prevent-exhaust-headermanifold-cracks-with-a-flex-joint/?tab=comments#comment-498637 -
Track Bar Difference - 1988 vs 1991
HOrnbrod replied to Keyav8r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not certain at all there are two different tapers. There's an aftermarket female insert piece you can use on the track bar frame bracket that welds in and repairs a wallowed out taper w/o replacing the whole bracket. There are write-ups on it - read several of them. And it's the same taper that a standard tie rod end uses. Tie rod ends tapers were universal throughout the Jeep XJ/MJ years as far as I know. Anyhow, if someone had both the early and later track bars to examine side-by-side, I think the tapers would be the same. Probably there's only a slight diff in the track bends/shape. -

The XJ track bar p/n's changed for the 91 model year. 84-90 were the same, then 91-01 were the same. Not sure why; the tapers may be the reason. The mounting bolt and the bracket also changed p/n's at the same time. I'd like to compare the two side-by-side. The reason for the difference(s) would probably be immediately obvious. -

4.0L HO Header Fitment Issue

^^ Concur with the above. Just for belt maintenance alone the intake swap is worth doing. And on my stroker it made an additional 12HP on the dyno. -

4.0L HO Header Fitment Issue
HOrnbrod replied to kryptronic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Quick question: Does this "overseas" manufacturer make a header for the later HOs with the horseshoe manifold? If so, is it a different part number? Maybe you have the wrong header. I remember my Mike Leach header fit perfectly when I had the older square manifold, and when I switched to the newer manifold it changed the position of the outlet dump just a bit. But neither position was as close as yours looks. Maybe Won Hung Lo was having a bad day when he welded up your unit........ -
THIS is our main page. Boring. I'd like to see a main page like THIS ONE. Nice site intro, table of contents, featured MJOTM, site news, and featured topics. Good intro for newcomers, easy navigation, and straight & simple.

You sir are a breath of fresh air. A welcome respite from the usual Renix trolldom. But no need for a special HO forum IMO; those in the know already know.

Pretending I'm Captain Obvious (my secret hero), this is the Comanche Club. It's not the Jeep forum, North American blah-blah, Jeeps Unlimited, or even Pirate that cater to all-breeds of Jeeps and don't do a great job on any of them. Just by our forum's name, nobody's coming here that owns a JK, CJ, YJ, even an XJ for guidance and advice or to browse because they just don't care. And a good number of those owners probably don't even know what a Comanche is, and think Jeeps' only pickup was the J-truck. Comanche Club is dedicated to a low production mostly unsuccessful niche spin-off Jeep pickup truck that was only in production for seven years and went extinct in 1992, twenty-five years ago. And no other Jeep forum out there that specializes in one particular Jeep model does a better job providing invaluable information for their particular specialty Jeep than Comanche Club does. Lots of wonderful pie-in-the-sky ideas posted here, but if the impetus of these new ideas is to attract new-blood Jeep owners it ain't gonna happen unless they own a Comanche. Newcomers coming here will always be new Comanche owners. I'd also like to retain the simplicity aspect of our forum for as long as possible. If it ain't broke, ...........
