  1. The 4.0 uses the donut seal, p/n 52003025 Jeff-man.
  2. Don't know if you have the Tractor Supply chain out there, but they have these pins in case hardened steel.
  3. Yeah, Hemmingway was my kind of guy. I like your quote too Slow. But if you make too many of those bottles disappear in front of you, you wish you had a frontal lobotomy the next morning. I prefer to use OEM parts whenever possible, especially on electrical stuff like sensors, sending units, modules, etc. With the aftermarket junk sometimes you have to go through two or three of them before they work right. BLATZ can fix you up with the best OEM parts prices and we're lucky to have him on the forum.
  4. That's going to be a great looking rig Bob. 8) I've got some NOS chrome door handles somewhere if you need, and these chrome S10 tailgate handles will bolt on our tailgates. http://tinyurl.com/54xu32
  5. Arg, Mr. Slow underscore Norris lives in a fantasy world like his namesake. Quotes a brilliant analogy from a forgettable B- movie too. But this is the Pub, where everyone can express his/her opinion. I still say welcome aboard mate, all opinions are free to express here.
  6. Yea......people that don't like chrome, aren't very "Bright" :teehee: (As soon as JT ships out a chrome grill and bumper for some up north here  ) Sources for parts - Don't forget This sticky. http://www.rockauto.com/ http://www.partsamerica.com/ http://www.teamcherokee.com/ And there are other sources. And you can find some answers to questions with-in the 101K posts some where here ;) Hey!!!! I knew I had something to do this weekend!! Yea.....your monthly care package is waiting to be shipped south of the Mason / Dixon line too :brows: Now, we would steal any more of 'The_Slow_Norris's' topic here. :D I'll continue the post thievery since Mr. Slow (the new guy who doesn't like chrome) is slow. :D Mr. Bob, you have always been a class act in my book, and although this thread is a bit hard to follow (for me since I'm slow too ), it appears you are augmenting your class by ordering some chrome from Mr. JT? JT is a semi-class act in this case, but only because he appears selling chrome. Not good............
  7. You're a sick man JT........... 8) 8)
  8. Not really Pat. But time at sea depends on what your NEC (MOS) is. Mine toward the end was an 1144, Terrier/Tartar SAMs. Eight years at sea, two years ashore, and ashore was really only at a Naval Weapons Station somewhere. This sucked. The daughters however, will be Nursing (Army) and Aerospace Engineering (USAF) officers. Very little sea duty if any if they were in similar fields under a USN ROTC scholarship. Daughter #2 spent a month last summer at the Naval Academy prep school at Annapolis (like a plebe boot camp) and excelled, and was offered a USNA scholarship. But both kids wanted to stay closer to home, so they went w. full ride ROTC programs. The closest Naval ROTC was at Auburn, unacceptable for Tide fans. :D Anyhow, I'm very proud of both of them, although I draw the line at saluting them.
  9. Naw, I understand. Not everyone likes chrome.............. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! There - now I feel better. Welcome aboard new guy who doesn't like chrome. :chillin:
  10. LOL. Yeah, I'm an old retarded, errr retired Navy guy, and daughter #2 starts USAF ROTC next semester at 'Bama U in Tuscaloosa. Neither one of them wanted to be a squid. :D
  11. Thanks JT. Her flight was delayed an hour out of here, but she just called from DFW and barely made her connection to Seattle. Her PT is outstanding, she maxes out everything. It's the tactics, op orders, and other military stuff she really hasn't had enough time to learn well yet. She's an MS3 on paper which your not supposed to be until two Ft Lewis summer training camps, and this is her first. But she's tough, like her Mama. :D
  12. Well, just got back from putting my daughter on a plane headed for Fort Lewis for five weeks of intensive ROTC training. Orienteering, land navigation, PT, leadership, etc. all the good stuff she needs to be a good Army nurse. She's in a new accelerated Army program so she can get all her military requirements done in her first two years, then concentrate entirely on her academics for her last two years in college before commissioning. The Army needs nurses badly. Needless to say she's very nervous about it, but not as nervous as her Mama.
  13. The ohms readings at the various temps should decrease as the temp gauge goes up, so I'm interpreting your 180* reading as 232 ohms; I think you're reading the scale wrong on your ohmeter. That sensor is going in the right direction, but it's range seems wrong. Factory cal specs are: 100* = 1365 ohms; 220* = 93.5 ohms; 260* = 55.1 ohms. I'd ask Taz to send ya a regulation dealer sensor for it and try that. And have you ohmed out the circuit from the sensor wire to the cluster temp gauge input? You might be picking up some added resistance in the harness somewhere.
  14. That's correct Chico. This was misleading - my bad.
  15. Stick the negative on the sensor brass case; that's the ground conductor. You didn't wrap the threads with an insulator like teflon tape when you installed it did ya?
  16. Tip of the sensor to ground Chico. What we're doing here is checking out the thermister (temp sender) resistances at various temps thouughout it's range. The resistance should decrease as the temp goes higher. Or you could try a spare sender in a pot of boiling water and monitor it with a thermometer from cold to hot.

  18. :agree: Me too :agree:
  19. Yes, the same for both EFI engines. :D
  20. You mean this one Jeepdoggy? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/car/708738550.html It's still on The LA craigslist, so he was probably flagged for advertising outside his area. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/717650860.html

Me too, but since I've had so many, but not quite like the below, I'm a Benz guy, so this is the one I want (yeah, I'm dreaming, that's me driving): Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG SEDAN, 5980-cc V12 engine, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in just 13.3 seconds, top speed 250 km/h, 32 MPG. Great family car too. :D
  22. It's highly doubtful Jim you'll pass the sniff test w/o a cat. Luckily we don't have emissions testing here. And yes, a freeflow cat, like a Carsound cat, does flow offer less restriction than the stock cat. As far as emissions testing with a freeflow cat, someone else will have to answer that one. :D
  23. Here's an old post with dyno readings: I've had a Hesco 4.5L stroker in my rig for almost three years now. My original Mar 2005 peak dyno readings at rear wheel were 182.4HP @ 4250RPM and 228 ft/lbs torque at the same RPM. Last month I went back to Hesco for my over 2-year checkup. The peak readings this time were 208.0HP @ 3990RPM w. 276.8 ft/lbs torque. The only major performance changes I've done since 2005 were getting rid of the cat and replacing it with a 2.5" in/out glass pack, into a Walker (the Flowmaster was too loud for me) single 2.5" inlet / dual 2.5" outlet Hi-Flow muffler, then dual 2.5" pipes all the way back over the axle exiting under the bumper. Also Hesco had to lower the fuel pressure from 44PSI to 38.5PSI to get the best dyno readings. I've read that you need lots of back pressure for the 4.0L engines too, but did not believe it. You just never know how mods will affect the engine until you put it on the dyno. EDIT: Both dyno runs were made with an FIPK in place and a 62mm throttle body. So my conclusion is that a good freeflowing exhaust helps HP/Torque a lot more than the intake, but you need both for good engine breathing. Also, this is an HO engine; it peaks at a much higher RPM than the Renix engines. The Renix engines are a completely different animal to tune as Eagle has explained so eloquently in the past.
  24. No additional valves; I just missed them the first time in your pic. According to my parts book, the 91 and 93 use the same R12 compressor, 56004354.
  25. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll zip it up and send it.
