In glancing through the parts manuals I found nothing indicating any Jeep vehicle from 1981 on was available with a factory front D44, including the Exports. The only Jeep with rear D60 availability I found was the J20.
^^ This. I put studs in when I swapped in the 01 intake years ago. They are even tighter than the old style manifolds. With plenty of anti-seize. Easy to get the nuts started using a 1/4" drive w. extensions.
That's just a molded connector that attaches to the two alt field terminals if that's what you mean. I've never heard of one going bad, but you could test the wires going through it for continuity. Remove the connector from the alternator and ohm it out from the ring terminals to each wire using a sharp meter probe to pierce through the wire insulation.
On some Chryco vehicles using this same ND alternator, that molded connector isn't used at all; the wires are just connected to the alt with ring terminals.
Well, the thread title is "your most redneck emergency repairs...". What's more redneck than drinking beer? Besides, nobody's going to beat ftpiercecracker's plywood back window redneck repair.
Are you kidding me? I must be weird or a redneck; wouldn't drink any of that junk except Corona unless there was nothing else.
My top five:
1. Narragansett. New England area beer - hard to find in the rest of the country. Grew up on this stuff, and lots of good memories. High alcohol content.
2. Miller High Life. My everyday preference. Good taste and high alcohol content.
3. Coors Banquet. Second everyday preference. Also with high alcohol content.
4. Yuengling. Third everyday preference. Also with high alcohol content.
5. Corona Extra. Special occasion beer. Also with high alcohol content.
I'm not referring to the "designer" beers. I mean the common stuff that Joe Sixpack drinks. Your LaBatt and Molson beers for example are light years better tasting than our Pabst or Bud rotgut.
IIRC, oil, volts, speedo, and temp will mount in either the HO or Renix gauge box. You will also obviously have the dash wiring harness to content with if you swap gauge boxes.
You only picked up this truck about four months ago. Already seven pages of documentation and the finish line is close. This is a high quality build thread. Well done Chief.
Get the Mopar Repair kits, they work best:
83502745 fuel line repair kit - 5/16"
83504447 fuel line/Trans line repair kit - 3/8"
The disposable plug is the white middle section.
