If. If. If. Much ado about nothing............
-
Hmm, maybe I'll keep the fiberglass camper shell on then. :rotfl2: And change the rear wheels. The BFG MTs break loose real easy even w. the AW4.
-
Probably never. You sure can Joop. For that rolling Honda Bondo advertisement, no problemo in the 1/8 or the 1/4, but for a 400-500HP Honda in the quarter? Might have to remove the camper shell topper for that and hope I don't snap another axle. :D

Yeah, even I was starting to believe all the 2nd Heismann BS they were spouting about Tebow. Did you just see him get blindsided and they refs called it an incomplete forward pass? But that's okay - Tebow just threw an interception. Tebow sucks. :shake: Now if your Huskers can knock off the Horns tonight, maybe we play TCU for the National Championship. GO HUSKERS! EDIT: As you said Wade, the cornfeds have a great defense - but no offense. They gave it a go until the defense pigged out. Oh well, bring on the Horns. They should be easier than the Gators............

Bama 26, Fla 13, start of the 4th quarter. Bama's kickin' Gator butt on both sides of the ball. Yet the dayem announcers are still conducting their Tebow love fest. What a freekin' joke.

ZJ power steering pump and box
HOrnbrod replied to Puritan21's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They are both Saginaw TC pumps, so it should mount okay. Most differences in these pumps were in the tank hose fitting angles and the output pressure. I have an 04 TJ pump on mine w. a ZJ box and everything fit fine. Worse case you may have to reuse the old reservoir. -
How's your heater working? Are you getting good heat output?

Gas Tank Skid - LWB/SWB Same?
HOrnbrod replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey Wade - who do you like for tomorrow's big game; #1 Florida or #2 Bama? You know who I'm pulling for, but it'll be tough. -
Gas Tank Skid - LWB/SWB Same?
HOrnbrod replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nope - different animals. $50-$60 is a good price for one SW2. -
Aye, nice shiney metal-to-metal friction results. Keeps the rust off though - for awhile. :D

Honda wins in the 1/8 mile. Your AW4, although a super reliable tranny, is a POS for drag racing and causes at least 22% drivetrain power loss even in new tight condition. If you had a manual shifter installed on the AW4 and tapped it through the gears, you might have a chance.

Low engine temp in both the 2.5 and 4.0 engines is nearly always caused by an defective aftermarket "offshore" manufactured thermostat. Go to the dealer and pick up the correct OEM 195-degree stat. In your case the one you need is p/n 83501426AC , about $10. This is not something to cheap out on. :D

Maintenance Required Light?
HOrnbrod replied to Jeepcom23's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wha? How? -
 Hope springs eternal. Keep up the good work Pat.

These connectors get really corroded, so clean the two contacts up real good with contact cleaner. The tank low level float is a NO switch, so short the two connector pins together and it should illuminate your cluster indicator bulb w. the IGN ON. If I remember correctly I had to install a new bulb in the cluster indicator panel; there wasn't a bulb there.

What steering wheel column will fit?

Must be 1991 as mine has the dual cut key. -
Comanche of the month, Dec 2009 --- HORNBROD's 1991
HOrnbrod replied to Automan2164's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
I did this back in 07, and the below is what I posted then. Still using the same setup. I'm sure the prices have increased since then as everything else has, but the improvement over the stock sealed beams was literally night and day. :D "Here's how I did mine w. costs. Got the Hella 200mm H4 e-code glass lamp shells from Susquehanna Motor Sports ($34/ea). Then picked up from eBay four IPF 80w/60w H4 bulbs ($10 w. shipping, but you can used any wattage H4 bulb you want) and wired in a universal APC 4-lamp wiring harness w. relays (much cheaper than the 2-lamp, just cut off the extra two H4 sockets, Ebay, $9 w. shipping) which fit my MJ perfectly. Then put in a separate fuse block mounted near the PDC on the right fender well and fused the high and low beams separately w. 20A fuses." HTH -
Yeah, I know Wade. That's my dog Gus the Cocker, and he's really gone over the edge since I had him neutered. He's not only attacking coyotes three times his size, swimming out in the lake and bagging the Canadian geese from underwater, now he's sneaking smokes. I caught him at it in the backyard, snapped a pic, and since he constantly stares at my monitor while I'm on CC (he's an MJ lover too), I figured if he sees his disgusting image as my avatar, he might change his ways. It's not working so far..........he's still smoking. I think he's getting his cigarettes from my neighbor. :chillin:

Their function in life is shielding, help to keep undesireables out of your engine bay, like rain, snow, slush, mud, road grime, etc. etc. that may affect your electronics. Keeps the engine compartment cleaner too.

Fly? What fly?? :rotfl2: The feeling is mutual Bob. You are truly one of the premiere members on this board and I don't know of anyone with more well-rounded MJ knowledge that spans all the years of our trucks, or anyone who always shares their expertise (and parts) w. everyone. Whew, now that that's over we'll go back to ragging each other mate. Both online and back channel. -
Yes - all XJ inner fender shields from 1984 - 1996 are the same and work fine in any MJ.
