  1. I wanted to retain the 3-pole toggle lights so I used the Porsche lights that function the same way and go in easily: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5929&p=57630&hilit=porsche#p57630. Reason is because it's convenient when you have an interior job that requires the doors to be open for a long period of time, you can just turn them off to save the battery instead disconnecting it. On the HO's if you disco the battery you lose the stored codes and you have to drive 100 miles or so for the ECU to "relearn", and it runs like crap until that happens. Yes, I can place a 9VDC battery across the to keep the ECU codes, but it's a lot easier just to turn off the lights. I like easy................
  2. You guys ain't looking in the right places: http://www.alumrad.com/fans.htm 'Bout half way down.
  3. :agree: Since you explained it correctly now. I hate typing...... :fs1:

    SCAM WARNING!

Dayem, that's good mvusse. That doesn't happen around here too often. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
  5. It's possible. The circuit foil behind the cluster has clearly printed out termination point ID. You will have to hardwire these terminations on the foil to the appropriate gauge(s) inputs you swap into the cluster. I've done this using an RHD Euro cluster so I could use the 120KM speedo. You will need complete factory wiring diagrams for both the before and after clusters, and it must be done as bench work and fully tested on the bench before install otherwise smoke may arise. Advice - If you don't know what you are doing and do not have the correct FSM wiring diagrams, forget about it. Just do the simple complete cluster swap and change out the appropriate temp and oil switches to gauge sensors. Much easier.
  6. This is like pulling teeth. Can't you explain exactly what you are trying to do.
  7. Since I use all electric fans, I'm not a fan of toggle switches that rely on me constantly monitoring the temp gauge. My engine is worth more to me than that. I am a fan though to use toggle switches as an overide protection device if my auto fan sensors/switches fail. The link below is the open system rad I've been using coming up on four years now for the stroker. It will work well for converting Renix cooling systems since it retains the fan switch bung hole. About halfway down the page: The Jeep Cherokee #9168. It's an all aluminum single core. I tried the 3-cores and this one does much better cooling due to better flow. http://www.alumrad.com/dblpass.html The bung hole w. plug is pictured below.
  8. Hey Paul. What about the young sailors that take the passengers out to the sire in the launches? That has to be the best duty in the Navy. It's also interesting to see all the Japanese who go to the memorial. Most of them appear to be moved by it also.
  9. Yeah Eagle, that do make it tougher to respond within multiple RLCollins threads. :fs1: Maybe he got enough info to boil it all down into a solution now........Hopefully.........
  10. Maybe, maybe not. Just run the VIN: 1J7FJ36S5ML548949
  11. Hang tough Joe, and you are obviously one tough hombre. May God bless you mate.
  12. Sure sounds like a fuel starvation problem. First do a pressure test w. a gauge on the rail test port. If okay, do a fuel flow test. If bad, the problem is prolly in the gas tank, filter sock or internal tank hose problem. Maybe.............
  13. I always use the Mopar OEM 195 degree stat. I have a 91 HO (the start of the late model thermostat neck), thus I have never tried the Corvette switch - just relaying info from NAXJA. And there is always the option of using an open system radiator w. the bung so you could retain your original fan switch. See this thread: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20088
  14. Why do we have two threads running simultaneously on the same subject?? On the "other" thread, I posted up some info I remembered from NAXJA. Whether the Corvette switch works or not I don't know because I've never tried it. Also, there are plenty of "open system" radiators w. the pressure cap around that have retained the temp switch bunghole. I have one on my 91.
  15. The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. A must see when you're in Hawaii. Also the USS Bowfin Submarine Park. A very humbling experience. Thanks for reminding us Carl'sMJ. :USAflag:
  16. From NAXJA: ""If you'll use a late model thermostat housing intended for the factory fans switch you can use a fan switch for an '81 to '82 corvette with a 350 to control your electric fan. Just ask for Borg Warner part #TFS19 or Niehoff part #DR137XL. All you need to do is screw it into the late model thermostat neck, extend two wires to where your original fan switch plugged in. This switch turns the fan on at approximately 215 and off around 195."
  17. Yep - right there is a good example as to the typical Horns fan. :shake: Hey Katy-boy, if you're willing to back up your mouth (or your butt by the looks of your icon) with a friendly little wager, shoot me a back-channel PM. :rotfl2:
  18. If you're looking to upgrade your stock setup to better handle oversized tires, I would upgrade the steering box first, not the pump. There are several steering box upgrades that will work just fine with the stock pump, like the 99 Dodge Durango box that has a larger piston diameter and retains close to the MJ steering ratio. I wanted quicker ratio steering (you probably do not) on my rig, so I installed a ZJ quick ratio steering box along with an 04 TJ pump that could handle the slightly higher pressure required.
  19. Their pumps are geared to work in tandem with the their upgraded steering boxes because of the increased pressure, so there's a chance you could blow the shaft seals in the stock boxes.

  21. :agree: And I can see it's not adjusted correctly. Looks too tight.
  22. Well mate, if you KNEW, why didn't you tell the rest of the world? Florida was the heavy favorite, and I sure had my doubts Bama could beat them. They just weren't hungry enough this year, and Tebow's overblown hype bubble blew up.
  23. Agree. Suh is the best defensive NCAA player this year by far, but it's always a long shot for a defensive player to win, and sadly the Huskers lost in their biggest game of the year tonight. He certainly is more worthy than the Texas QB Colt-man, another loser tonight. Ingram cetainly isn't the best overall running back in all of the NCAA, but he played a super game tonight when he had to, and will play another great game against the Horns. I think it's wrapped up mate......
  24. I hate Texas too, as most of the free world does except the people who live there. As for the Heisman, based on the performance of the big games tonight, Mark Ingram, Bama RB takes it vs. Horns QB Colt McCoy who had a sub-par game w. 3 pics. Tebow's history. I'll be highly PO'ed if Ingram doesn't get it.
  25. This p/n valve is for an 87-88 model. Is this what you have? Good find!
