My daughter's Biology professor at the University of Alabama - Huntsville, whom she knows well and is her favorite professor, went berserko today during a faculty meeting, pulled a gun, and killed three other Biology professors and critically wounded another three. The campus is in lockdown and my daughter can't come home. Details are still coming out, but it appears this female professor was denied tenure this morning, and she showed up at the afternoon faculty meeting and started blasting away. Her husband has also been arrested. Damn.............

:agree: Although I didn't use a 4" longer shackle, I only used a 1.5" (provided .75" lift) longer shackle on my MT springs for two reasons: to make up for leaf springs settling over two years, and they were greasable. The pinion angle basically stayed the same on my SUA LWB and didn't need shims. Longer shackles have very little effect on a LWB SUA MJ, long triangles, and no effect on killing leaf springs in this configuration.

The police speedo fits right into an HO full gauge cluster and works very accurately - just has different colors. I had one in for awhile but didn't like the clashing color schemes. :D A better option is fitting in the Euro cluster.

Mine's still the original and looks as new. Don't know how. Maybe because it's always been garaged....

Exacerly. The logic module gets a separate feed from the left and right stop lamp wires. The left and right stop/turn lamps are dual filament bulbs with a common ground. W/o the logic module to block it, the 3rd brake lamp would receive the turn signal backfeeding thru it's filament as well as the stop signal, thus would blink when you applied a turn signal. I think an inline diode on the left/right turn signal wires might work; never tried it though......... :D

This is the one you need here: http://www.jcwhitney.com/LOGIC_CIRCUIT?ID=12;0;0;0;100007;ProductName;0;0;0;0;2003583;0;0 Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll end the wiring diagram as an attachment. :D

Steering shaft, Wheel studs
HOrnbrod replied to Worlds Fastest Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a D35 c-clip so it was easy to pull the axles. The shoulder was slightly larger than the originals but they went in okay. :D -
Steering shaft, Wheel studs
HOrnbrod replied to Worlds Fastest Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Rule of thumb is 5 full turns of the lug nut is enough. I realize your rules are not rule of thumb though. :D And you are right - the rear studs are too short. I had to get rear wheel studs .5" longer also when I converted to rear wheel disk brakes to make up for the backing plate thickness and new alloy wheels. Got them from a local machine shop from his Dorman stud box (I believe they were Ford wheel studs) and pressed them into the axles w. no problems. 50 cents each. -
Got to use a 3rd Brake Light module, see here: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14822&hilit=3rd+brake+light I you need a wiring diagram, let me know.

Hornbrod what battery?
HOrnbrod replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Chicofuentes! WTF? ¿Cómo estás mofo? Damned if I remember for sure. Was it for the bigger group size battery w. more AH that fits neatly into the MJ battery cavity? :dunno: -
:agree: IF they even make it to that age. :D I wouldn't mind at all the paycheck for sure those "old bastids" picked up for their "lame" halftime show.

question on swaybar links
HOrnbrod replied to comanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The ZJ bar and longer links will work just fine. -
It was a sweet destiny win. The whole dayem city underwater four years ago, it's people disbursed everywhere, gotta be one of the the comebacks of all time. This football season has been super great for the South with Bama winning the Collegiate National Championship, and the Saints capping it off with the Super Bowl win. Plus MJs don't die rusted out deaths too often down here either. :D

Damn - good win. Wish I was down on Bourbon Street 'bout now.

Holy Crap! An on-side kick to start the 2nd half by the Saints! What a ballsy call. It worked too - we do have a game. ROLL SAINTS! I guess the WHO picked them up during halftime show...........

T-valve for airbag helper kit
HOrnbrod replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You could deflate them with an icepick? I stand corrected on the check valve Bob-man. Didn't think of the need to deflate them. -
T-valve for airbag helper kit
HOrnbrod replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You could put check valves in each leg, or even inline ball valves, and have one fill. Open them up to air up both bags, then shut them off to segregate the system. -
T-valve for airbag helper kit
HOrnbrod replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I agree with the Wildman. The air volume is fixed in the system. When you make a hard right turn say, the the centrifugal force will compress left bag, and the air will move over to the larger right bag, exactly what you don't want. You want the left bag compressing and the pressure trying to "push" the vehicle back upright, not lowering the pressure by going to the larger right side. All air bag/shock systems I've seen have separate fills for each side. Some guys even put a little more pressure in the left bag to compensate for the crown in the road. -
That's all that it's worth to me. Man, I can think of better things to spend my $$ on than a promo sales coin.

Hey, I love those old B/W tube TVs. I remember many a year waking up at 0-dark-thirty Monday morning and watching the game with about 200 others on TVs like that - and damn happy to have it. Back in those days there were no commercials, only the stupid AFN reminders to brush your teeth regularly and other very informative stuff. The vets here will remember that crap. It all depends if the Saints defense shows up strong and can disrupt Peyton's rhythm. I really want the Saints to win, and the odds will change in favor of the Indys before game time......
-
My heart says the Saints; my head says Indy. I don't like the Colts since they sneaked out of Baltimore in 84, dislike Payton (but do like his bro Eli and their Daddy), and dislike the AFC worse. So I voted with my heart. :D

I like Sunoco but unfortunately it's not marketed here anymore. :???:

Roll Bar Pictures and Descriptions
HOrnbrod replied to runner6's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That does look good. Most roll bars made for other trucks are either too high or low w. the roofline, or have to be modified so the legs sit correctly on the fender well and don't straddle the pinch weld. This one looks like it fits well in all respects.
