  1. Wife got me an early Christmas present, a Gentex auto dimming mirror with HomeLink & compass. Beats the crap out of underwear and/or socks. Installed it today and it works great. It has three Homelink buttons, so I programmed both garage doors and the third for the garage lights. I likee! It opens the doors from almost a block away. Side note: The instructions state the Homelink transmitter MUST have 12V constant power. NOT! I've worked with these before, they have sufficient memory to store the programming for at least two weeks, so use 12V ignition switched for power should you install Homelink on your rig. Constant power to the Homelink transmitter is an easy invitation for scumbags to break in to your vehicle should you leave it outside and open your garage doors.
  2. Rock Auto has them for $70.79. I'm sure a search would turn up some cheaper............
  3. This is true. But with all those vehicles and part numbers to play with, it should not be difficult to find an economical replacement.
  4. Jeep p/n 83502375, Aftermarket manufacturers p/n 17079129. Fits 100s of Chrysler and GM vehicles. See RIGHT HERE

  6. I had a NOS factory "sport" bar laying around for years (since sold) with intentions of doing just that. Pulled the cap and set the bar in the bed, and didn't like it. The sport bars look great on the SWB MJs, but not on the LWB IMHO. And yes, like the turbines because of the originality.
  7. Thanks Wahoo. I like them too. Found a clean set and had them blasted and refinished by a local shop. Always preferred the 10-spokers over the others.

    Checking in

I envy you down in the warm weather Eagle. Best of luck getting your niece out. Find any export MJs in Chile yet?
  9. Original smart car. 60 MPG.
  10. That's good advice from ParadiseMJ. If however all is well, pull the dash bezel then the screws holding the HVAC control module. It will come out about and inch or so. Operate the slide lever, make sure the HVAC rotary valve is rotating at each position, and that all linkage, electrical, and vacuum connections are in place. Once had a problem on an XJ the the vacuum rotary connection was loose on the rear of the switch and caused intermittent HVAC door problems.
  11. Might if you still use the vacuum controlled water valve. It might not be opening all the way to allow full coolant flow through the heater core. I dumped mine years ago. Vacuum also controls the HVAC doors.
  12. From an Alex ex-customer: More: Maybe a BUYER BEWARE warning is in order?
  13. Highly recommend Hell Creek mate. Tom makes his own springs and stands behind them 100%. And you get the Comanche Club discount.
  14. For sure. A no brainer. No bung hole for the O2 sensor though.......
  15. Yes! :clapping:
  16. That's correct. Shoot me a PM with your email address and I can send a wiring diagram if you want.
  17. They're not the same p/n. But I'm willing to wager the internal stop pawl (the piece that wears out and doesn't engage to keep the pedal down) is the same.
  18. Same car vaquaro, but with a different setup was my first. 53 Ford Victoria w. a 58 Olds J2 tri-power engine, headers w. dump caps, STOCK axle. Called it the Snapper because of the ease it broke rear axles. Never did upgrade the axle, and sold it for a 36 Ford 5-window with a 327 and Muncie. Back then the US and Canadian Fords and GMs had different trim treatments, mostly on the front ends. I always thought the Canadian versions looked better. :Canadaflag:
  19. Yep, agree with option B. You've been looking for a valid reason for a year or two since you got that pesky cab leak and other problems, gave it a go, and it seems like now the timing is right to do the dirty MJ deed and sell. Someone will be very happy with your solid MJ and will make it right. Your girls are FIVE! (damn, time flies).
  20. That's the FL one Fiat. He still has it.
  21. Yep, you are correct Fiat, and I was wrong. :( Just finished researching this with the help of one of our esteemed CC members whom you know. The mats with the logo (either AMC JeeP or the later plain JeeP logo mats after Mopar took over) in the center were in fact factory bed mats. The aftermarket mats I referred to (like mine) were identical material but did not have the logo. The same vendor made both versions, but a copyright thing allowed then to reproduce them at a cheaper cost w/o the logo. Learned something tonight! That's always good.
  22. If it looks like the below it's not factory. Neither were the later non-AMC-logo mats with "comanche" stamped in the corner. I'm 99.9% positive AMC/Mopar never offered a factory bed mat, but I'll find out. I know Pete and Rick remember this. Tom "sportztruck" Swatzell, an oldtime club member who passed away way too early, sold a crap load of these. He got them from an aftermarket accessory outfit in TX, long belly-up now. I used to have the web site, but it too is gone.
  23. I sold the one in the picture above for a long bed for $325. But it was NOS.
  24. Two things I can think of: 1. According to Hesco, the Renix and HO blocks use different main bearings and they are not interchangeable. 2. The oil filter mount in the HO is cast in the block and is 90* to the block surface. The Renix oil filter housing is 18 degrees tilt down. But that's not a show stopper.
