  1. The 91 and up tachs have a selectable switch on them, at least all the ones I've worked on. On the earlier ones, the pot I believe is for adjusting full scale meter deflection, and the single resistor (IIRC) on the board can be changed to switch between 4/6 cylinders. You could get a similar value resistor and alligator clip it across the resistor on the board, effectively halving it's value, and see how it affects the meter movement.

    91-93 Clock

I go the one like below one out of a 92 XJ, same one that's in my 91. They are much brighter than the earlier ones. mvusse, you may be half right. I think the early production 92s were the last appearance for dash clocks in the US. :dunno: The 92+ export XJs had yet another model clock though.

    Another JY MJ

She's a beauty Jake. :ack: But I bet the boys up North would kill for the body.
  7. Welcome to the club. Just run the VIN to see it's background. Surprised you didn't do that before purchasing.
  8. Yep, same one I have. Get it! I got mine by buying an Ebay 1989 Pioneer in PA for $500, flying up there and driving the truck back to AL. Swapped all the better parts from it (including the topper) then sold it here for $1000. It was in good shape. So I got the topper and had it painted for free. Actually made a few $$ :chillin:

    231 neutral

Eight bolts?? EDIT: See you caught it.
  10. No, I wanted the normal 60%-40% front-to-rear ratio during normal braking with or w/o load. But full lock on a panic stop. In checking front and rear pad wear, it seems to be working fine. Yeah, open her up. I'm curious too.
  11. The MJ height sensing valve was never designed to be rebuilt, just replaced. AMC/Mopar never offered a rebuild kit for it, like say a brake caliper. As far as rebuilding it it probably could be done if you could source the o-rings and seals inside. Testing it by blowing through it won't work, as you will always be able to blow through it at any arm position for safety reasons. It would have to be tested under the same hydraulic pressures it has at no-load/full load as it was designed for in the real world, with pressure gauges on the inlet and outlet sides of the valve. And those original hydraulic pressure tolerances would be impossible to find now. When I did my lift and installed rear disk brakes I got the valve to correctly bias the rear disk brakes working as it should by installing an adjustable actuating rod and doing skid tests in a wet parking lot. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17968&hilit=adjustable
  12. Nope, sorry I disagree. Staking or tack welding may or may not repair the booster leak but I'd never try. Just replace it, won't break the bank. Never cheap out on your brakes mate.
  13. Thanks Jim. I've been looking around and found some work around solutions for not using Amazon's download wireless, but it's just not worth it. So I'll get the the one w. USB for the extra $50 so I can get the files I want for free. :D
  14. AFAIK it's not offered, but there are hacks on the Internet to add Bluetooth to the Kindle.
  15. for you computer gurus. The question regards downloading files from my computer to the Kindle. There are plenty of free books on the web available in the correct format I can download to my computer. The Kindle comes in two flavors, wireless only and the more expensive wireless w. a USB cable. I realize I can transfer files easily from my computer to the Kindle via the USB cable, but can I transfer files from my computer somehow using the wireless connection? I do have a WIFI network in the house.
  16. Jeep office chair. Very comfy.
  17. Stick to the topic guys. Although I like the style of Jones' Big @$$ Truck Rental & Storage. I have a IHC bulldozer (10 tons) I need to get rid of. Do they pickup?

  21. Yep. For today and tomorrow we are forecast for about 4". It's pretty rare though. The girls are home from school and they are out in the backyard building a snowman while Gus the Cocker Spaniel barks his fool head off at it because he's afraid of it.
  22. Merry WHITE Christmas all. A pic of the backyard. First snow of the year here. :D
