  1. Your tach signal is generated by the ECU. The output is pin 43, a GRAY/ LT BLU wire. Unplug the connector from the ECU and make sure this pin is not recessed into the connector. If okay, check for continuity from the ECU pin 43 to the cluster connector.
  2. Aye. Well said Jim-san.
  3. Yes, they push into a 1/4" hole. Push pins, plastic rivets, etc. Get one's with the widest head you can find for the fender liners.
  4. 91-92 Elims could be had with the long bed. :brows: Personally JT, me thinks you'll never need to use it being in NC. Sell it to a brother up North who really needs one. But don't give it away (knowing you that will never happen), get your price mate.
  5. Here's the best link for testing Renix sensors: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm That being said, I noticed you have had Jeeps in the past, all 91+ with HO engines. If you can, find a 91-92 MJ 'cause you won't be happy with a Renix system. I've had both, there's no comparison. The Renix system is a bastardized conglomeration of sensors cobbled together when AMC was on the ropes and going down the tubes. When one sensor goes, it can cause the same symptoms as another, and they all interact with each other. Renix electronic parts are getting hard to find, and are mostly expensive. Unlike the HO engines, it's hard to find go-fast parts for it if that's what you might want to do later.
  6. Yes. But invariably you destroy/break a few removing them. Lowes has them.
  7. That would be my neighbor, and it's still sitting up on blocks slowly rotting away. As it has been for the last five years, and will remain so as a monument. Sad..........
  8. Better. But suggest you add to your perceived stereotypes Aussies, Middle Easterners, senior citizens, and taxi drivers.
  9. Dayem, that's quote-worthy. Such a contradictory declaration. I think I'll add it to my signature. Naw, better not..............
  10. Yeah, I put those liners in about 3-4 years ago; still look new. The best way to anchor them in is to use the 1/4" push pins with a neoprene fender washer on the head. Keeps 'em nice and secure.
  11. there will be special sensors that go on each axle for pad wear theye are a pain to keep working, i have them on my BMW and they always go pad, the sensors that is That they do. When the pad gets worn enough they make contact with the rotor is turns on an indicator light. That's how they are supposed to work. Trouble is that when you use metallic pads the generated dust/crud turns the indicator on prematurely. They're useless. The cracked box is called the interface module; the System Sentry module is called the display module. You need both to have any shot to make the system work.
  12. hmm its didnt happened to me? I'm sure there will be some metal available to connect the ground? like top flange of bolt not the thread? Not saying it will happen in all cases, but it could happen. My FSM even has a warning not to used teflon tape because of the possibility.

    lol

    Speed bumps.
  14. I think the OP's question was "Locker or no locker?" in his existing 4.10 geared AMC20? Not replacing it. :D
  15. The temp "switch" (I think you mean sender unless you have idiot lights?) gets it's ground from the threads to the block. Wrapping tons of teflon tape around it kills the ground - temp gauge don't work. Just get a new one.
  16. Have you made the effort to check prices and/or availability on an AMC-20 locker?
  17. I know the power steering pump and alternator braketry are different, but maybe the mounting holes are all there on the ZJ block to swap yours over. :dunno:
  18. Getting back to spacers - I would not have used them if the rear disk brake caliper didn't rub on the inner wheel. So rather than grind material off the caliper, I installed SpiderTrax spacers and have had zero problems with them. Looks better too. :D W/o Spacers With Spacers

  20. I'm sure your creation will look, uh, much more presentable Jim.
  21. Just had to post this. The guy must have had a wrecked 97 XJ he didn't know what to do with. It's a work of art. What kind of art is questionable  CLICKY HERE
  22. Good to hear. That's just what I'm going to do.
  23. Sure do Pete. But that's one place I'd never put chrome - poor heat dissipation. However polished aluminum would be fine.
  24. Thanks Joe. Looks like this feature was only on the older Jeep 44s then restarted on today's Rubicons. I'd sure like to have a drain with a magnetic plug w/o having to buy an expensive cover. :(
  25. Muchas gracias amigo.
