Not everyone lives in Paradise.

A stainless carriage bolt preferably.
-
I usually touch a 9V test battery across it to test meter movement.
-
He says the gauge is pegged all the time even with the ignition key off.
-
^^ Try this test to see if the gauge needle moves at all, but since you say the gauge stays pegged with and without the key on, I'd lean toward a stuck meter movement on the fuel gauge itself.

Quite easily actually. When recharging with RedTek R12a, I accidentally cracked the high side service valve by mistake. I could hear a small leak around the valve stem so I immediately shut the valve. Then ordered two new R12 service valves, high and low, and while replacing I noticed the low side compressor tube o-ring was nicked. So I replaced both the high/low tube o-rings on the compressor. I didn't replace anything else. Charged it up and check it occasionally pressure gauge at the low side and it's still fully charged and working fine.
-
It's to initially seat the rings with no load. Then drain/change the oil and run normally. Some compressor manufacturers break them in for you, the ones made "overseas" don't.
-
Good info on the MT2601 Santech A/C System O-Ring kit Nori. What lubricant if any should be used on these A/C o-rings when installing?
-
I just repaired a couple of slow leaks on mine. One was at the stem of the high side service valve so I replaced the valve, and the other was the o-ring (5/8") on the low side hose at the back of the compressor. I also replaced the low side service valve and the compressor high side hose o-ring (1/2") while I was at it. But I'm still R12, so this probably doesn't help you at all.

Catalytic Converter Heat Shield
HOrnbrod replied to Rymanrph's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I used that same Magnaflow cat for a couple of years when my clogged original went down. It's a high quality unit with very little exhaust restriction. Well worth the $$ IMO. -
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield
HOrnbrod replied to Rymanrph's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
True, it should, but it probably won't pass the visual inspection in NC. Even the lamest state inspection drone should be able to see that the elbow doesn't belong. -
Yep. I knew he'd have to comment. And say Yep. :rotfl2:

No, the black JK Sahara shocks are the same p/n as the red Rubicon shocks, at least on the 2015 models. I got a set of takeoff red Rubicon shocks to upgrade my Sahara and they were the same part numbers, just a different color. The black Sport shocks are light-er duty. I tried the red Rubicon shocks on my MJ and they were way to stiff for me. The black Sport shocks might be better.
-
^^ That's a good guess.
-
No idea how that happened. :dunno:

Dear Santa, How are you? How is Mrs. Claus? I hope everyone, from the reindeer to the elves, is fine. I have been a very good boy this year. I would like an X-Box One S with Games of War IV and an iPhone 7 for Christmas. I hope you remember that on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas, Timmy Jones ~~~~~~~~ Dear Timmy, Thank you for your letter. Mrs. Claus, the reindeer and the elves are all fine and thank you for asking about them. Santa is a little worried all the time you spend playing video games and texting. Santa wouldn't want you to get fat. Since you have indeed been a good boy, I think I'll bring you something you can go outside and play with. Merry Christmas, Santa Claus ~~~~~~~~ Mr. Claus, Seeing that I have fulfilled the "Naughty vs. Nice" contract requirement, set by you, I might add, I feel confident that you can see your way clear to granting me what I have asked for. I certainly wouldn't want to turn this joyous season into one of litigation. Also, don't you think that a jibe at my weight coming from an overweight man who goes out once a year is a bit trite? Respectfully, Tim Jones ~~~~~~~~ Mr. Jones, While I have acknowledged you have met the "nice" criteria, need I remind you that your Christmas list is a request and in no way is it a guarantee of services provided. Should you wish to pursue legal action, well, that is your right. Please know, however, that my attorneys have been on retainer ever since the Burgermeister Meisterburger incident and will be more than happy to take you on in open court. Additionally, the exercise I alluded to will not only improve your health, but also improve your social skills and potentially help clear up a complexion that looks like the bottom of the Burger King fry bin most days. Very Truly Yours, S Claus ~~~~~~~~ Now look here, Fat Man, I told you what I want and I expect you to bring it. I was attempting to be polite about this but you brought my looks and my friends into this. Now you're just disrespecting me. I'm about to tweet my boys and we're gonna be waiting for your fat a$$; when you get here, I'm taking my game console, my game, my phone, and whatever else I want. WHATEVER I WANT, MAN! T-Bone ~~~~~~~~ Listen Pizza Face, Seriously b*@ch??? You think a dude like me who annually breaks into every house in the world on a single night and never gets caught, sweats a skinny, G-banger wannabe? "He sees you when you're sleeping; He knows when you're awake"; Sound familiar, genius? You know what kind of resources I have at my disposal? I got your $#!t wired, Jack. I been all around the world and seen ways to hurt people that if I described them to you right now, you'd throw up your Totino's pizza roll all over the carpet of your mom's basement. You're not getting what you asked for, but I'm still stopping by your crib to stomp a mud hole in your a$$ and then walk it dry. Chew on that, Petunia. S Clizzy ~~~~~~~~ Dear Santa, Bring me whatever you see fit. I'll appreciate anything. Timmy ~~~~~~~~ Timmy, That's what I thought, you little bastard. Santa

Does your junkyard have a Black Friday sale? Everyone else does. :ack:

Good for you. Hope you made a lot of money.

I'm happy that you are very happy.

You are 100% right - suspension setup and ride quality is completely subjective. Just like motor oil, tires, and all the other consumable products that have been discussed here ad nauseaum. There's no way to explain the shock/spring differences, you have to experience it on your own rig with your own suspension. I'm a nit-picker on suspension and handling and have tried many brands of shocks, springs, front and rear sway bars, etc. I like OME products and yes, they are not cheap. You get what you pay for and and to me the OME stuff is worth the extra cost. Unfortunately no MJs were ever exported to Australia, so they don't make MJ specific rear shocks. So you have to experiment based on your lift setup and how you use your rig.

RE control arm lengths
HOrnbrod replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was looking at their fixed arm awhile back and called them - the length is 16". I went with WJ LCAs instead because of the curve in them.- 3 replies
