  1. ive never used anything skp brand so i can't comment on there quality.i have used dorman(not the greatest but better than nothing sometimes)and moog, delphi and even federated line srt and they all seem to fit.i do order a lot off of rock auto but sometimes its better to just bite the bullet and buy local so returning them isnt as big of a deal.
  2. looking good.i wish when i done mine they had made the mj pans.i used xj pans and trimmed and cut and got them in.
  3. do they actually measure 1/2 inch wider than your originals?ive had some that i trimmed a little off each side to make them work but not 1/2inch worth.
  4. that has crossed my mind several times.i need to find where the casting numbers are at and see what year it is.on a side note i finally did the 95 cherokee booster/master cylinder prop valve upgrade today.the original booster was leaking vacuum and the crown replacement didnt work at all.truck hasnt had brakes this good since it was put on the road last year.
  5. no,after the trans mount replaced there are several inchs of clearance between the exhaust and crossmeber.i just wish i knew if the vibration started before or after someone had the trans out before me.i can tell the trans has been out by the cut cooler lines and missing nuts on the kickdown cable bracket.
  6. you can feel some vibration when reving it up.it seems worse when its cold and you first start it up.ive had a race car engine that was not balanced properly and it feels very similar to this.the truck sat for years in a field and i wonder sometimes if this is why it was parked.it runs okay for 2.8 ,i just want to fix this vibration before it causes some other damage.
  7. i don't think its in the suspension.its 2wd and i put new sway bar links and bushings on it.i also replaced all 4 shocks with good kyb gas adjust units.the steering wheel never shakes, its just you feel it in the trans tunnel.the rest of the front suspension is in good shape and even aligned it at my old shop.i thought about just replacing the harmonic balancer to see if it does anything but my visual inspection it seems the rubber isnt in too bad of shape.i had took the rear end cover off and checked it out.there was no metal shavings anywhere and the rear sounds smooth and quiet while driving.the vehicle is stock height so ive kind of ruled out pinion angle but who knows.
  8. i found that out but unfortunatly i don't think thats my problem.jeep has had a vibration since i bought and has slowly gotten worse over the last 6 months.its not in the tire /wheel and just had the driveshaft balanced and it checks out fine.found a broken motor mount but even after replacing both mounts and trans mount it made very little difference.i can tell the trans has been replaced before and was hoping that maybe someone had replaced the flexplate with the wrong one but i can see the counterweight on the flexplate and all the converter bolts are tight.you can feel the vibration directly over top of the trans tunnel.it starts around 45 and progressively gets worse to 65 and then kind of smooths out some.hoping its not in the trans itself.
  9. does anybody know if a flexplate from a same year 2.8 s10 or camaro is the same as the 2.8 comanche?i think they should be externally balanced but i didnt know if they shared the same torque converter pattern.
  10. i just a bunch of these back in june from summit for 1.95 a piece.i see theyre currently unavailable now.
  11. thanks,my local advance auto has 2 in stock,I'm going to grab one today.i ran into the same exact problem you did.
  12. i ran into the same problem, back in the day some of the door jamb switchs were long but after you shut the door it kind of adjusted intself to the correct length.i tried it with one like you show and i could not get the door to shut.i just gave up and put the old one back in.
  13. moog used to be good but its not what it used to be.ive been using alot of delphi parts in the last 2-3 years and they seem decent.dormans electrical parts are a hit or miss but the few suspension parts ive used havent been on the customers vehicles long enough to have an opinion.
  14. if i remember correctly the optimas use a different charger to bring them back to life.i use to use alot of optimas ack in the day but there quality is definitly not what it use to be.
  15. this is usually how it works on all batteries.when they replace it under warranty it doesnt start the warranty period over.interstate batteries work the same way.
  16. i know and i don't even have to deal with the a/c compressor as the truck doesnt have factory air.
  17. i know and sometimes you can get them too tight and itll eventually ruin your water pump bearing or any other bearing thats associated with it.its a slippery slope sometime.
  18. ive searched through some s10 forums and the only solution i could find was you had to swap the timing cover and oil pan.then i think you lose the mechanical fuel pump option as well.i don't want to start going down a rabbit hole to do something thats not super important.i hate new v belts anymore.it seems that you have to tighten them up several times before they finally quit stretching.i think self tensioning serpentine belts have ruined me lol.
  19. has anybody converted a carb 2.8 v belt over to serpentine belt without changing the timing cover and oil pan?the truck doesnt have factory a/c and the air pump was gone when i got the truck.id don't mind using an aftermarket kit if some one knows of one available.i wouldnt even be opposed to using serpentine belt with a manual tensioner if that was an option.i just don't feel like changing the oil pan just to use a serpentine belt.
  20. i own a shop so if all they charge you is an hour then thats fair.there very rarely is such a thing as a 2 minute job.if its fixed right than its worth it.trust me shops hate fixing other peoples mistakes,no offense to anybody but it just usually makes our life harder ,
  21. i did get the carpet with the mass backing so maybe that was the problem but i wouldnt swear by it.i did use the amazon siless brand(dynamat knock off) but it greatly reduced cab noise and does a good job of insulating the cab.its literally a 1/3rd of the price of dynamat.
  22. i got the vinyl from acc off rock auto and it point blank doesnt fit.i got the acc carpet from rock auto and was very disappointed in it.i got so frustrated with it i ended cutting slits all through it and alot of carpet glue just so it would have some form of carpet in it,sad thing is i put acc carpet in my foxbody and it fits very nice.
  23. i run kybs on alot of my normal vehicles and have been pleased, they're on my nephews 86 mj and theyre fine.
  24. you can still have a bad coil or ignition module thats under the coil.
  25. i think thats way I'm going to go if i do this.
