I love physics, what more interesting thing is out there knowledge wise. What can't you do with physics. Putting a pipe on a breaker bar is a use of physics. Pretty much everything we do to our jeeps involve physics. No I am not a nerd, but knowledge is power. I was a shi# growing up but I always took my education seriously. Same with college, I partied with the best of them, but still graduated a realtivley tough degree with a high GPA. Have fun with life, but always be looking out for your future. Man I am getting old.

A must have MJ...........somebody buy this please!
pilotblake replied to WahooSteeler's topic in The Pub
If this thing has a clean title and the axles are the same gearing etc. etc, this is how you pick up a diamond in the really rough. He couldnt have screwed up the rear install too bad. I would buy it if I was in the area, at least look at it. -
There is just so much rust................    I thought our stuff was bad here in the rust belt.

In dash DVD players? (anyone ever try one?)
pilotblake replied to jpnjim's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My guess would be no. I can't keep a decent CD player over a couple years with dust and what not. I now buy the cheap $100 pioneers at walmart. I do have an pioneer AVIC N1 (now outdated but new software is still available) in my Grand cherokee, motorized screen and GPS, comes in handy for movies and finding crap. -
was that your 1000 post goblazers?
-
Yeah my old XJ has that wonderful smell.
-
If this stuff wasn't so far away, we would probably come to a deal. However I looked up the distance, it is 15hrs each way and gas would come out to around $300 round trip. I will keep checking into options.

You should sell me those fender flares, until you have a lift and some bigger tires
-
What were you running for a lift before, and what are you running now. My WJ is itching for a new look, but with all the negative talk about lifting WJs I am leary. The old man emu 3.5 is kinda what I have it narrowed down too if I was buying something. Everybody wants what they don't have, but what are your thoughts and opinions having already lifted your jeep.

Cut-throat Comanche - 1990 MJ Short bed
pilotblake replied to NVR_LEVN's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
From what pictures show, it looks like a pretty decent truck. Pull your carpet up if you haven't already, most likely could be your first project. Good luck  -
POR 15 is great stuff It is what i used to seal my floor pans, and paint my crossmember. The pros is that the stuff once it cures is incredibly strong and designed to go right over light rust. The cons is that you should only buy as much as you need at the time and use all that you get at once (plan as many things you can if you end up with extra paint) Once you put the lid back on you pretty much have to cut the lid open to get to it next time. Also do not get it on your skin as only time and abrasive scrubbing removes it. Also the basic POR 15 does not have any UV protection and is recommended to be top coated, or I think they have another product that is designed for areas that see daylight. Thats my $.02

I was only joking, as I have a big picture that is not even of a jeep.

Yeah people with big pictures drive me crazy :wavey:

This would have never crossed my mind to try, but it does work. MY WJ has the infinity gold system with the dash mounted tweeters that are common to blow out. I have left mine unhooked for 6 months now because chrysler wants like $70 for new one, and with the rest of my speakers and subs I did without. Then I came across this link on NAGCA.com and it works like a charm. I used Black RTV silicone because it is what I had laying around :dunno: , and it stays flexible enough even after it dries to allow the tweeter the little bit of movement it needs. Wouldn't do this on my home theater speakers but for the car it is a cheap fix. I love backwoods ingenuity. http://www.nagca.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38118

I have been running mobil 1 conventional oil in my 00 WJ V8 (oil change every 3,000 miles religiously)since it was new, now has around 110,000 on the clock. I switched awhile back to a mobil 1 full synthetic, and not long after it developed a light knock or tick on start up, that then goes away after a minute or less. I immediately switched it back to conventional, and have have changed the oil twice (tried different weights and filters) since the switch back. Outside of the annoying (man you must not take care of your vehicle) looks I get from people when it starts up, the thing has great oil pressure and runs smooth and strong. It is it possible that the synthetic loosened something up and blocked a passage or the pick up screen? I know the chevy guys have had issues with the vortecs doing this but I have not heard much of it from jeep. I now live in fear of switching any of my other vehicles over to synthetic, even though I hear lots of great things, increase in MPG, better flow on cold starts, etc. Just curious what is run on here and opinions.

Now that is a mod we have not yet seen on this board. Interested in the pictures.

Also doesn't the d35 take a spreader to get the carrier out?

pilotblake replied to jeepaholic's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Last update was the beginning of this year. Any new info........ -
Good thing there wasn't an open flame, that is about the only way that could have gotten worse. Funny regardless (given the people were ok) Most of us have had less involved things like that happen, that when it was done we went holy s@#$ did that just happen. Can't imagine what these guys first thoughts were after this happened in a matter of seconds. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :help:

Lower control arm alignment shoe
pilotblake replied to pilotblake's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
why does the new one look so much longer than the old one? Checked at the stealership today to see what the going rate for the alignment shoes was expecting the $20-40 range.........................................NOPE.........$60  and they could have it for me in 4 days!!! Looks like I will be making a trip to the JY. For what it is I will make my own before i get taken for that..........at least kiss me on the neck first. :headpop: -
D35s are everywhere, find one with your gear ratio and go. Or if you are lucky enough to find a D44 now is a good time. Other options exist as well. I have a D35 behind a v8 and with mild wheeling has held up (knock on wood) I am hoping to have located a d44 before mine does finally lose the good fight. Exploder 8.8 is next on the list.

Yeah I have never gotten involved in ignition replacement or anything deeper than a steering wheel swap. My truck actually needs a new ignition switch, so maybe I will go to o'reillys and get the stuff to take care of both of our issues.
