  1. I like your style. Both of your rigs are tastefully done. Problem is now you have me searching for the twingo top :wall:
  2. Well I have the CAD axle on top of everything else. Will a one piece shaft replace the two piece? Also my parts guy says he can get me a loc rite (sp?) but not an aussie. Which would serve me better or are they the same idea? I need a locker by middle of next week.
  3. I will start this out by saying I am not all that experienced in the graduated style of purpose built offroading. I grew up in the country so I have offroad driving knowledge but not the skills learned from rockcrawling etc. Anyway my truck is open diff front and rear, and with air lockers being out of my price range right now I had decided on an aussie locker. After searching on here I thought I had came to the conclusion that if you were going to lock the front or rear to lock the front first? and that the aussie locker was a decent setup. Having said that, I have a friend who runs the local o'reillys and has been wheeling for several years tell me when I asked if he could get me a locker in short order, tell me to lock the rear first and leave the front open. So this is my first question. Finding a D44 rear axle in my area is next to impossible, and this jeep will see some pavement and highway time. Do I ......Lock the front leave the rear open?.......Lock the front and weld the rear?......Leave the front open and lock the rear (It is repeated on here not to spend money on a D35, but...?).....Leave the front open and weld the rear. The truck runs on 35's on the road and I plan to run my 33's M/Ts offroad. With an aussie locker up front will driving on the snow in town in 4wd be impossible. If I have a locker in the rear and I am turning and give it gas will it cause the tires to chirp and jump? I know its alot of questions and for that I apologize
  4. I think it is funny. I was impressed with the controlled sharing of beliefs and religion, of all things without flying off the handle.......until someone says that we can't now all of a sudden the tables have turned, and people are getting worked up............Don't yell fire until you know that is in fact what it is. And I don't know how your computer works, but I have to click on this post to read it, and I do with an open mind.
  5. I can't believe I watched the whole thing. :redX: :fs2: It's like putting those stupid outfits on dogs, some motivations I will never understand. Why not take some vehicle at least that doesn't have an offroad reputation to uphold. The guy has good taste in vehicles, but not in style except for the rock lights...and maybe the fact it drives by R/C
  6. :agree: I am from a small town and do go to church, not because I believe or don't believe in god, but because it brings people together. Sex religion and politics are the big three I keep to myself. Having said that, we have Santa Clause to remind kids to be good or they will not get any gifts, and we have god for adults to remind them if they are not good they will not get into heaven, which if it is anything like bible camp for those of you that have been to one I will take my chances down below.
  7. Looks good to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faRlFsYmkeY
  8. Is anybody going to the Timber Ridge run in Castana, IA? http://www.ci4wi.org/portal2/
  9. Western Iowa reporting in. Anybody heading to Timber Ridge this year? http://www.ci4wi.org/portal2/ I doubt my cooling issues will be resolved by then, but still plan on going over there at some point.
  10. I had my cooling system reverse flushed several years ago by a dealership, everything would be fine until it was put under a load like pulling a trailer or mountain driving. I replaced everything one piece at a time and nothing seemed to help. Finally ran out of components to replace and put in a new radiator. Fixed the problem. It happened not to long after it was flushed. My guess is that when they flushed the radiator they did a halfass job or something came dislodged later and plugged part of the radiator. Not sure this would help but I thought I would share. :dunno:
  11. I want the chief graphic in a silver to lay over black, that would be the cats meow.
  12. This is the current fleet minus the 5.9. Also have a bonneville that sees most of the highway miles in the summer. The liberty is the wife's DD, has the roof slider which is pretty neat.
  13. Ill just take the hood off completely, I think I can get away with that here in my part of the world.
  14. Good I thought I was missing something also
  15. I guess this D44 is out of a 96 grand cherokee. Does that mean it has the 5 on 5 bolt and aluminum center section. I remember reading somewhere that this is not a good swap option into an MJ. I know my 00 WJ has the aluminum D44 and 5 on 5 bolt.
  16. Not sure why it says you got quoted Pete?
  17.
  18. I have a hard time locating MJs in the yards by me let alone one with a 44 :fs1:
  19. Fellas Fellas Fellas no need to fight Thanks for the info regardless. $250 seems to be about ballpark for a decent D44 isn't it?
  20. Is the drive shaft distance from the transfer case to the axle going to be the same if I swap in a jeep cherokee dana 44? I know the perch distance is different.
  21. If I am going down the road with the thermostat out, It will get back down to around 160, if it sits idling the temp slowly creeps up. I bought a taurus fan in hopes of fitting it in, but it would hit the water pump in any configuration I put it in. I hate to spend big bucks on fans that will still have to run non stop draw tons of amps and still potentially not be enough. If I knew someone with the fans I would try it, but to blindly go out and drop that kind of money it is what was leading me towards the remote radiator.
  22. No this truck doesn't have an A/C condenser
  23. That's funny. I just want to drive my damn truck out on the trails longer than 20 minutes without shutting down. I have two electric fans with shrouds that move a decent amount of air, I built a cowl hood to let the most heat out as possible. I had a custom aluminum radiator built ( granted it is pretty much the same overall size as stock) I have rejetted my carb, tried different timing settings, checked and rechecked gauges used IR thermometers to double check again. I have tried every coolant additive on the market........anyway you get the point. This truck is going to be over budget before I even get a chance to go out and break something.
