Sorry didn't mean it to be too mean. I am actually getting the thinner cylinder head spacer installed for all that extra power :rotf: :rotf: worth a shot I guess, already have the high performance? sprocket/clutch installed. Supposedly this and the head spacer add 1-2 hp and give you faster starts/top end speed? Have you rode your sno-rabbit or just picked it up and need parts, the website that was posted says it has carbs for sale? Once I get it done I'm going to to throw it in the back of manche like everyone here does with there 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I have a 350 in my truck right now. Great power, awesome sound from a little truck, haven't broken anything yet......Only because I have yet to find the solution to keeping the temps down long enough to break anything. Now with winter coming up here I can actually get out and play again, but that is usually in the snow. You would not believe the heat buildup under the hood. I have a cowl style hood with big openings in the back and still gets super hot. Running without a hood in the cool summer days helped. I just got some block hugger headers that are ceramic coated, hopefully they will help keep the heat down. If I didn't drive this thing down the road I would ditch the steering for a full hydraulic setup allowing me to run a taller radiator. Some guys get lucky :dunno: and run a stock radiator with a v8 and are fine, unless I have some unknown internal issue I can't keep my truck under 220 to save my life or the engines. My hopes is to getting my cooling issues solved before this v8 lets go, so when I find a good price on an LS1 I am good to go. I read somewhere that you need a radiator with the core with the same sq. inches as the the cubic inches of the engine plus fifty :dunno: . I also see that Novak now sells a radiator for the XJ. When I was building mine they didn't have one that would actually do the job. I had a custom aluminum radiator with the same specs essentially as the novak kryoflow with two high CFM electric fans which helped but didn't solve the problem. Sorry for the long post, it is raining here, and I am on my third cup of coffee :typing: :beerhead:

I have two, and you can't have either :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: . They are/were a chrysler product. I think they were originally designed as a light military transport, also fold up and fit into a large car trunk. Fun little machine. http://www.sno-runner.com/Historyandpictures.html

side cab vents on hood

Thanks, it always amazes me what a little paint can do. The difference between what it started out at, and what it ended up at cost around $60. I got the guy $100 lower just for the condition of the trailer. :rotf: CW i still have my mind wrapped around your trailer build, this just took my mind off it for a couple days. :clapping: I juuuust about started fabbing up stuff to make this a multi function trailer in true family fashion, but i decided to keep it simple and get it done. I don't know if I learned it on here or where but it sticks in my head now whenever I start working on something. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. :dunno: ...the only reason it isn't rolling on 33's is that the axels weren't wide enough for my rims to fit on. Then I started looking at spacers and blocks to lift the axle etc. and I remembered K.I.S.S. ...one day...one day...

The wife has been bugging me to get a canoe for awhile, but the idea of always having to paddle slowed my efforts. Anyway just in time for winter I found this gem 8 miles from me, at the right price. The trailer bugged me, so I tore it down sanded it and laid down some good industrial grade paint, all new wiring and lights. Even got the Shore Land'r decals and bunk carpet for free, since the factory is right up the road. The canoe or "scanoe" is rated for up to a 5hp outboard, if I go that route. Anyway the trailer is a tilt trailer and all. Anyone deal with repairing plastic on these canoes? I have a couple spots that have been glued, but would like a better fix. Doesn't leak the way it is just bugs me I guess.

I can't believe someone cut up a good bed to create this nightmare.

Interior pillar light upgrade
pilotblake replied to pilotblake's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The dome light in the title threw me I guess, thanks for link. -
I think this also could apply to whoever asked about putting a comanche on another frame. Yikes :dunno: http://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/1416823014.html

Interior pillar light upgrade
pilotblake replied to pilotblake's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
all i really saw was the porsche lights? -
Did some quick searching, and found some fixes and upgrades for the pillar lights that looked ok. My questions is has anyone found any LED or newer "looking" brighter pillar lights that will fit/or be made to fit in the stock location. I am tempted to run a slimline fluorescent accent light above the rear window, and wire it in to come on with the doors open (maybe to bright?)

How did you find/notice they were chromoly shafts? I ask because maybe I am not looking hard enough at these junk yard gems. I thought I did good finding a rear view mirror with the vanity lights and the aftermarket xj cup holder deal for $5.

/\ Bud light, "Never Summer" ale or Bluemoon if I'm somewhere it is served or on tap. > I find myself working side jobs to be able to (justify) buy parts for my MJ and my list of wants keeps getting longer. \/ How many dollars in modifications have you spent on your MJ?

I'll take it

Your not going to find a stock cherokee with a D44 with disc brakes. I will let someone with more knowledge on widths and such to answer the rest. The newer cherokee 8.25 has disk brakes and will bolt under your mj with a little spring perch relocation.

360 Fuel Injection Build
pilotblake replied to 360MJDude's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
I initially had problems with my steering stabilizer contacting the oil pan on my chevy 350, it also was close when the axle was articulated. I had to use a drop pitman arm, and do alittle re-engineering, just something to look into. Ignore all the mess, it has since been cleaned up  -
The back frame and silver diamond plate really set it off nice. Said it before and I will say it again that is a great looking trailer.

Not today but in the past week bought a new winch bumper cleaned it up alittle, painted it and bolted it on. New shorty head hugger headers arrived yesterday via brown van santa. Getting ready for some major fabrication.
-
Sandblast it, primer it up and let it sit. It already seems to have alot of good parts. If you have the time, do the free or cheap stuff. Get the body cleaned up and in primer, or work on the floors or little things like that to preserve it alittle better then the factory did. Don't part it out just yet.

MJ rear window removal ?

I have no idea, but if you get it out in one piece and want to mail it to iowa let me know. -

That is pretty harsh. I have a 00 WJ, bought it with 20,000 miles and it now has 104,000 miles with no major mechanical issues. Brake warping is an issue with the stock rims, but other than that the only issues I have had with my WJ has been brought on by shady dealership mechanics. If you want what makes the late model XJs so great go with the 4.0 not the 4.7, personally I have to say the V8 is quite snappy and throw on a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler and it sounds nice and throaty. My wife loves the Grand cherokee, especially in the winter, its road manners are very predictable. Start sliding in the wrong direction, just give it alittle gas with the wheels in the direction you want to go ang your set(full time 4wd). People are always afraid of what they don't understand. Give me a product I will find you someone who thinks it sucks. I cannot speak for the WK, but I have owned a 4.0 ZJ and own a 4.7 WJ and neither one ever threw me any "major" fits.
