  1. I also have this disorder :agree: ....is there a diagnosis for it? I know jeep is just empty every pocket, but my wife is an early childhood special education teacher and diagnosis kids all the time and writes IEPS to help them, but she can't explain what my disorder is (in this area at least). It is my favorite four letter word :help: .
  2. I have used my truck since I have owned it for everything but serious rock crawling. And thats only because there is not good places free range where I am at.
  3. Parked it in the hangar said my goodbyes and went to mexico, Got back home got it back out and am waiting for the snowstorm that is supposed to hit today :clapping:
  4. The first picture is what it used to lool like, the following are after I cut the center section and added sheetmetal to the sides. I haven't personally seen it done this way before so I thought I'd give it a try.
  5. When I get my drop hitch fixed I am going to want to pull my boat behind this thing once in awhile . What can be done on a moderate budget to level out the back end under load. I don't want it to interfer with the axels range of motion but some kind of air shock that can be mounted with the regular shocks and aired up when needed?
  6. Cute kids, I have the exact same lineup only different colors and packages.
  7. I never seem to think about taking my camera when i go anywhere I guess, but I happened to have it tonight. I'm not exactly wheeling but I am putting manche through the paces. These will be the first pictures on here off pavement. We were not done by any means but I remebered last second to snap a couple pictures
  8. What radiator did you finally use, seeing that this is thread has some history. I am tired of having to take out my thermostat in the summer just to keep the V8 within reason. My radiator is an all aluminum one that fit in the stock location without messing with the steering box. I looked at this one, put the price tag is hard to swallow. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=BCI%2D60185&N=700+4294924755+4294908280+4294908279+4294924500+4294839040+115&autoview=sku I know you get what you pay for, but has anyone actually run one on the trail? It would be worth it if it would actually work.
  9. I don't know how well the bulb will hold up. Airplanes don't see the level of abuse and jarring around that our poor trucks do. It is a very creative idea though, AMC would be proud, airplane parts on a jeep.
  10. After a little surprise with the POs idea of wiring up a stereo got straightened out :headpop: , I got 2 MTX 10's and a cd player installed. Life is balanced again, now if i can just get the carb leaned out abit.
  11. They just don't make them like they used too. Mj's might be small but they pack a big punch. Glad to hear your truck is okay.
  12. I call dibs on the red short box sitting upside down on the long box. Can't seem to find one here in the rust belt that isnt all banged up, rusted out, or full of bondo. Nice collection of MJ's
  13. I picked up a MTX preform or whatever they are called subwoofer box(cheap). It was made for a chevy silverado, but fits nicely behind my bucket seats, and since it is all enclosed plastic with 2 10's and built in amp, I figured it would work good. Anyway previous owner had a radio in the truck but took it out when i bought it from him, so i threw an old one in to fill the spot but left it unhooked. Went to hook it up last night, and had it sounding good. Put the seat back in and then went in to eat a late dinner, came back out turned on the ignition and radio, and the radio came on but no sound from the door speakers, only bass from the sub. Checked everywhere for a short or something? After retracing everything I hooked up i was truly puzzled. Started checking things to see if they still worked, pulled out the headlight switch and a cloud of white smoke came out of my radio. I have probably installed 20 some stereo systems and never had a problem. I then cussed at it and went to bed. :wall: Now I am at work, trying to work through what it could be so when i get home I can get it back together. Sorry just had to vent. :hmm: :redX:

    Spring Fever

These T6s stayed the night on the way to Oshkosh. Put on a hell of a show when they left. Nothing like the sound of a big radial engine, let alone 5 in one spot.

    Spring Fever

Not me in the picture. Full composite airframe, which I would not recommend as it flew maybe 40 times then a pushrod came loose and it slammed into the top of a tree then came crashing down to earth. Flew really nice though. Really hard to repair and rebalance unlike balsa. Scrapped the body and started over. And the Raptor 30 and a Dept. of Defense Chopper.
  16. I had the same idea for the hood only I cut it on the body line. And I cut my side sections from a junk chevelle hood...you know for speed. and painted.........
  17. Yellow is good color if it is on something fast enough to outrun the conotations, i.e. vipers, corvettes, camaros. Just never sat right on a jeep in my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions.
  18. Has to be the coolest thing I have seen in awhile. I have soooo much to learn about backwoods intuition. I wish there would have been a class on it in college. Macgyver 101 maybe?
  19. Swapped in longer coil springs to attempt to level out the front (not exactly today), welded painted and installed my roll/show bar (not today), and reinstalled my newly painted hood (today). Maybe one day i will remember to grab my camera when out wheeling, always seems to be an after thought.
  20. :hmm: :huh???: I wouldnt do anything like that unless maybe I had a drag car or something that is used to quick runs. My truck would probably choke out and die and send a fireball out the carb.
  21. I guess there are auctions every saturday morning with 60-100 vehicles. I went saturday, and it was pretty interesting. You paid $50 cash to get in with a badge, you get an hour to look things over, then they auction the cars off in about 45 minutes. There was a burnt up GMC 1500 that had nearly brand new 35" baja claw MTs and it sold for $300. When you leave if you didn't buy anything you turn your badge in and get your $50 back, if you buy something then that $50 goes towards the purchase. I personally would not go for anything like a daily driver, but lots of good parts vehicles. Interesting crowd too.
  22. I am going to a police auction tomorrow morning to look at a couple vehicles they have listed on the bill. I have never been to an auction like this and have no idea what I'm in for. If anyone has been to an auction of this type I would take all the pointers I could get. I know you pretty much buy them on sight as is, but that is the extent of my knowledge. I am not going with the intentions of buying a top quality vehicle, but I am interested in the dos and don't's. I have basic mechanical knowledge, but without running a vehicle what are the important things to check quick, to have the best odds of maybe pulling away a diamond in the rough. All help and criticism welcome. Also can I bring tools?
  23. .....Now I just have to find me a 97+ jeep with heavy rear end damage and swap the front into my truck. The search continues. Local junkyard wants $350 a door. Thats not going to happen.
  24. Is there information on here on whether it is possible to swap the dash and center console into an older MJ. I have searched but not found anything, even though I know I have seen it on one of the Jeep sites I check everyday.
  25. Replaced the front springs with new longer ones to level the thing back out. Now I just need some longarm control arms or CADs. Damn moneypit :wall: love/hate relationship for sure.
