  1. all your threads are usually picture-heavy. ;)
  2. longarms? nice. we can't buy from insurance here, but when i was working in saskatchewan there was a guy doin a lot of what you do. - i was always jealous of that. - looks like fun.

  4. thank you for the opinions gentlemen. i think that i will take a pass on this for a few of the reasons listed above. from what i understand a d300 tc is what would be needed and even so, with all the hassel and expense, even if all components were free it will still be better to either wait for the right d30 or just make one slowly over time. i need to re-gear my white truck so have been trying to keep an eye out for "treasures". after all is said and done i will probably wind up with a r and p for the d30 from ebay.
  5. i have been saving an 8.25 that i was gonna re-gear and was planning on going with a 30 for the front. just happened to come across this today while looking for some scrap at the recycle center. they sell scrap metal for 25 cents a pound and that would include dana 44s. i do realize this is a different bolt pattern, but how would camber come into play?
  6. scout. front axel. $0.25/lb. hubs felt good when i turned them.

i can't recall if i posted this here or even where i saw it but if you like detail it's hard not to like this : http://www.youtube.com/embed/ACkmg3Y64_s
  8. my white truck has them. and my 92 xj had them too. in fact, your interior is very much like my 91's.
  9. that truck is so nice i could even over-look the red interior, lol. good find! where are you located?
  10. its your back brakes. one of the pads is broken and its periodically getting jammed up and freeing itself, thus creating the " hard shifting auto" feeling. my $0.02.
  11. kinda cool though. thanks for posting this. 6 bolt wheels? is that a toyota rear? wonder what the ratios are with such small displacement.
  12. ya , those are great pics! your truck has a nice stance now. what is the front lift height and where are the pics taken? it really looks like around here.
  13. guilty. :( my apologies. strange times here and there these days. - although i have kind of enjoyed the pub lately, as long as it stayed respectful. and the sharing of information is always kind of neat. and the truth -be -told, - ive kinda used it to gauge the general opinions of the "average joe". but i have to seriously apologize, as i knew i was treading dangerously close to "trolling" myself. i enjoy and value this forum too much to play games though, so will be much more careful in the future. having said that -- i do find it very refreshing to be some of the more "lefty" (for lack of a better word) opinions as i also value those and the intelligent conversations that they can bring.
  14. For-profit prisons: The U.S. has more people locked up than China, a “police state” with four times our population.: http://www.cagle.com/2012/03/to-be-read ... of-a-down/
  15. the last time a u.s. president tried to do that he was eliminated right away and that became one of the biggest suspected conspiracies of all time.
  16. we had something like that happen here a few yrs ago --it became a pretty famous case. percy schmieser in saskatcherwan vs mansanto. and i have been hearing alot about the farmers in india lately too. same story. its an amazing tradgedy. vote by withholding your dollars. "the high costs of low prices".
  17. if you already have that spacer, it sounds like you want/need to simply install 3"" lift coils and call it done. that's what's on my silver '86 pictured below.
  18. who buys a battery for 3 slices of pizza, lol. it looks like you have some good things on the go - i will be following with interest. great lookin truck btw. ps. do you happen to know the height of the front springs? I'm interested for reference.
  19. i can't speak to the rest of your reply too much, pat, but i can say for sure that this part is not even close to true. (unless i'm reading it very wrong). isnt that why there's no longer any manufacturing in north america?
  20. my neighbour has 2 delica vans (one lifted and nice and one sweet and luxurious) that he runs on bio-diesel and has been for years. - he told me once that mcdonalds and a few restraunts were bringing their waste oil right up to his house for disposal. whenever he drove by there is always the slight waft of cooked french fries ( freedom fries?, lol). he also had his oil funace in his house setup to burn this stuff. i wish i had paid more attention at the time, (he moved away a year or so ago), because there seems to be tons of those diesel vans around now and i have always like them. - I'm not sure about this part, but i have heard that most oil is being bought-up by companies doing something similar on a larger scale.
  21. i'd upvote that, lol. my mentor ( the one that got me into union ironworking) told me about all this stuff years ago, when i was too young and dumb to listen. now its coming full circle. people in the know simply do not shop at wal*mart, safeway, mcdonalds. when an eskimo used to go seal hunting he didnt say to his family " i'm gonna go try and catch a seal" he would say " i'm going out to get our share of the seal". when i go over to the tar-sands, that is the attitude that i take ---- i go get some and bring it home. ----- then enjoy it gratefully till i have to go again. - if i do some smart and sustainable things and learn from the right people, i won't have to go so often. ---- maybe one day never. shopping is big-time political, and the less of their "products" that we need the better off we will all be in the long run and the short run. ------to say nothing of the health benefits. it's gonna be an interesting spring, i think.

  23. that yahoo article says he's a christian ( although i don't see how that would make any difference, either way, i'm sure he's not really religious - or maybe he is......) some of the greatest americans of all time have been muslum ( martin luther, sammy davis, shawn ( j/k ) - to name a few. on a side note, is this kind of hate-literature even legal anymore ? : so i don't know--it's all pretty scary stuff. --- sometimes i get a bee in my bonnet and wanna go off on a political/spiritual rant but am always trying to hold back for fear of offending the awesome people on this board who have given me so much help over the years. http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0h6a ... o1_500.png

brake pad on the wrong side? lol. i watched my mechanic try and put them on backwards the other day. - he (and me) were temporarily baffled ---------- but the apprentice over-heard us and knew what was up right away. total lolz, lol.
