90 Pioneer DD A little at a time

Watcha done with the old bench seat? For sale? -
Suprised no-one has responded to your question yet! I may be entirely wrong but try examining your Central Axle Disconnect http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17533&p=178077&hilit=central+axle+disconnect#p178077. Vacuum lines could be split or it could just be stuck. Try putting it in 4x4 and driving around a bit, it may unstick itself. WELCOME BTW!

FWIW: I run an Air Lift kit and I'm very happy with it. It will lift the sagging rear suspension back to it's original height but as with add a leaf it make the ride very choppy with no load on. I carry a 1400lb camper on my MJ and the air bags stop it bottoming out over even very rough terrain. Here is the MJ kit, it cost me a round $200 CA part number 59503 http://www.airliftcompany.com/online_catalog.html

Great photo LoTGoD, captures the era of that bike perfectly! It's been over a year since I've even seen my bike. It's the longest I've not ridden in 23yrs! :( I don't like stupid :Canadaflag: governement red tape at all! :fs1:

Fuel gauge started playing games! Usual suspects?
Jerry replied to Jerry's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
OK, I'll see if I can get the connector block on the tank off to see if that's corroded. No fuel stolen. I'm guessing there's a bad connector somwhere because the gauge did start to work properly for a short time. Thanks for the info  -
Hi guys, I had a quick search but didn't find any posts relating to this issue so hoping someone can help point me in the right direction :D All of a sudden my fuel gauge has decided it won't read any more than quarter tank?! Is this a common problem? It has always worked fine until now when after I had parked on a steep side camber it suddenly went from full tank to quarter and stayed there. It had a moment a few days back when it started to work again for a couple of minutes but then it went back to quarter tank. It does seem to move as the fuel level goes down but not much. Are there any usual suspects? I was thinking maybe a bad connector somewhere but I'm not sure where to look. I gave what I'm guessing is the sender unit (on the tank RH side) sharp tap hoping if something was stuck it'd free up but it didn't make any difference. Any ideas? Thanks hugely

Suggested Towing/recovery rules of the forum
Jerry replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
What's the best option for a rear recovery point? I have a standard rear bumper and want to keep it. And what about the front, I was going to buy a set of bolt on tow hooks. Are they OK? -
Think yourself lucky you don't have a recalcitrant 2.8 with a carburettor! ;) It most definitely has a mind of its own  Sorry I can't be of more help with your OP  Mine idles somewhere between 100 and 1500 rpm

Nah! You want a nice big camper with a heater n sink n stuff ;) It doesn't impede my offroad ability at all really! As always, probably a great product but I'll be waiting for the early adopters to get bored of them and start sticking them on Craigslist for $1000

20mpg average with 2.8L daily driving, around 17mpg hauling the camper  Who says the 2.8L is rubbish ;)

Like fast cars? I mean Really fast cars? Watch this vid. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M3-GTR-nurburgring_97464.htm It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The transmission whine is just a beautiful sound! Great combination of VERY fast car and VERY good driver  Not as fast as my 2.8 MJ obviously but pretty damn quick  Is there a thread somewhere for us to put "our favourite internet videos"?

Just for reference to anyone interested......... These kits are great, see link below. I use them on the bike. I carry a mini compressor instead of the CO2 canisters though. They are alot quicker than removing the holed wheel and putting on the spare! Last the life of the tyre too. But only good for repairing nail type holes less than 1/4". http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stop-Go-Pocket-Tyre-Plugger-Kit-CO2-Inflation-System_W0QQitemZ130280974947QQihZ003QQcategoryZ30928QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262#ebayphotohosting I'm sure you can get something similar to the link above without paying UK prices. The kit I have came with fifty plugs and I've already used two of them. Find hole, remove nail/bolt/etc, use rasp tool, insert plug, reinflate

Feeling crazy: John Deere Yellow paint for the MJ?
Jerry replied to phenryiv1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Great idea! Yellow is a happy colour :clapping: You could also go for Catapillar yellow? Reckon their paint is tough. http://www.miningtopnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/caterpillar-793f-mining-truck-picture-3.jpg I think your daughter would prefer Polka Dot though ;) -
A quick Comanche on you tube! 10.76 quarter mile? I reckon he must have the 2.8L under that hood! Track side. In cab.
