Fairly normal in the 1960's was to take old rwd cars and run them all over the logging roads in Oregon! :clapping: We would drag the mufflers off, beat them to a pulp, junk 'em, and get another. :dunno: Even used a Valiant w/a slant six. Took it hunting and stuffed a deer in the trunk!

I'd say depends on what you do with Waggy. Kind of stock, the turbines. Lift her, and trick her out a bit, maybe the others.

Month ago bought a 2010 patriot FWD 2.4 Auto. so far seems to be getting about 25 on highway. Comanche? Still gas in. Burn it. Replace it. Burn it again. STILL gotta check!

I'm thinking on eliminating the collector on my Clifford 2.5 header when I redo the exhaust. Only problem... two Converters and two mufflers. And, where do I put the OS? Now I have one converter and a dual outlet Flowmaster.

That looks like the Classic, not the GT. According to the JEGS website the Classic has three holes on each spoke, and that's what I remember in seeing them for years and years, and the GT two holes. They have steering wheels and buttons. http://www.jegs.com/v/Grant/470

If you plan on doing most of your own wrenching, get a Chilton Repair Manual or something similar. I have a Chilton that covers Wagoneer, Comanche, Cherokee for the years 1984-1998 (bought it in 1999). Has been an invaluable source! The number on that book was 40602 and according to JC Whitney, it is still that number for the Comanche. http://www.jcwhitney.com/chilton-total- ... id=1367255 You can get diagnostic manuals also, but they cover a lot more that jeep and are pricey. This "Total Care" manual included wiring and vacuum diagrams, and is 25.00 at JCW. Most major parts stores should have them.

Don't remember the highway, but when I returned from Germany while in the service in 1969, I took a cab from Fort Dix to the Airport in NY to fly home. My knuckles were white hanging on as the guy went in and out of traffic and commented when he saw another cab wrapped around the concrete pillar of an underpass, "guess he didn't make it!" Knees shaking and knocking, I was never so happy to get out of a vehicle!

Lived in the KC area for 8 years, actually in Farley, small town north/north west of KCMO. Driving I-35 at rush hour was a combat zone! If you signaled an intention to change lanes, the person behind you in the lane you wanted to move into would floor it to stop you! Had to just pull in and signal at the same time and then hear the blaring horn and see the finger of the person behind you. Dangerous place to drive! Most people at that time simply moved into another lane without signals and without looking. Saw lots of road rage!

Pilotblake: I see you filtered your rocker cover ventilation tube also. how often do you go through filters? -
Lookin good! That's the Grant with the jeep button thats available, right? If so, is it the 3 1/2 dish, and did it move the steering wheel closer to you that stock to where it is less comfortable? I have considered doing the same, but was afraid of where it would place it. Since my manche has no power steering, I have to go with the 14 3/4 wheel that looks a lot like the later mj/xj wheel. My stock one is the big, fat center and is 15" diameter.

Yes, super clean! I especially like the wheels being black against that dark silver/gray. Good look! -

Thought your plugs looked a bit to "white", and idle fine but falling all over itself like that but not constantly made me think water in the system that will clog up a filter really fast was the culprit and why I mentioned it, specially after all your other attempts failed. Drop your tank, have it cleaned. Tank is probably ok. If you get another tank it will be used and should be cleaned before putting it in anyway. I've had to do that before. Another thing. Current gasoline, I am told, goes bad within a month. If you store a car you need to put a fuel stabilizer in the fuel, and run it at least every month. Otherwise, you get this same problem. -
87 short bed 4x2 from under the back of the bed connector out to tail lights/ license plate lights on factory bumper. Would not think long/short bed be any different.

How about timing chain? Or, Distributor gear or shaft worn letting the timing go stupid, messing everything up? Checked your timing to see if it's not advancing or jumping all over the place?
