  1. You do some quality work. The console looks perfect. In fact, the whole interior looks really smart. Well done.
  2. This was on here a month or so ago. It will likely be around for a while if the guy doesn't get real on his price. Low mileage isn't everything.
  3. This look slike the color you're describing. BTW, this truck is for sale in Florida.
  4. This is edited text ... You notched the front of the console to accommodate the floor vents? Can't tell for sure. My truck is an auto on the column. Anyone got a creative resolution to clean up the opening for the floor shifter? ~Tim
  5. :agree: My first thought for the (fuggly) front was Explorer, but Ranger makes sense too and that rear bumper looks surprisingly good.
  6. The truth hurts. Funny as hell!

  8. I've discovered that few of my thoughts of restoration or modification of my MJ were original. One of the first changes I looked into was swapping out my bench for buckets. I found the thread "Making XJ buckets work in a MJ" early on. I foolishly believed that the mounting points and seat brackets would be the same as an XJ. When I read the word "welding" in the aformentioned thread, it dawned on me the designers of the MJ were as odd as the rest of us. Love these trucks, but like their owners, they're all just a little different from the norm (a good thing IMO). As my mechanical aptitude and patience for such things are about the same, I'm opting to buy MJ buckets and be done with it. I already have pristine brackets. That said, I ask again, anyone have a pair of MJ buckets they would part with?
  9. Looking for a serviceable pair of MJ buckets. Gray preferred, as that's the color they'll wind up being. If they're ready to bolt in, all the better. I'll travel if it's easier and will pad the sale price with gas money, and perhaps a burger and a beer somewhere in the middle. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
  10. Holy cr^p. It's a "Borg". Just a little flex and sticky feet, huh?
  11. Think they'll fit my "Commanche"? :D

  14. I have one for sale as well ... looking for $40. Just figured I'd throw it in the ring. Note: no filler under the steering column. There must be ten of them on ebay and not a one with the filler. They're also $60+
  15. ReplyReply to: dhh8r-4145334044@sale.craigslist.org [?] 1992 Jeep Comanche odometer: 200000 Up for sale is my 1991 Jeep Comanche. It's an Eliminator Edition, which means it has a 4.0 L engine, captain's chairs, and tach. It's 200,000+ miles, but still running strong. Regular oil changes, plus the following done in the last year: New front brakes / rotors New windshield (old one had a crack) New alternator + new Kevlar belt New battery New headlights (still need to adjust those, just got them in last week) New stereo (plays MP3s off an SD card too) New speakers (all four replaced) New tires It's a five speed manual transmission. Heater works great. Truck is reliable, it got me from Topeka KS to Medford MA without issue when I moved up here in February (I still have KS plates to prove it!). I'm selling it because my job in Cambridge doesn't have parking, so I pretty much take the T everywhere now. Plus if I still have it in November I'll have to get MA plates, license, and inspection, and frankly I don't use the truck enough to pay for all that! I do have pictures of this truck, I'll edit my ad and post them when I get home from work tonight. It's in really great shape for its age, anyone looking for a Comanche or the like would be pretty pleased to find this one (but you can be the judge of that). There are a few spots of rust on the sides of the truck, nothing huge. The red paint job looks nice, but it was originally black and you can tell it's a repaint when you're standing fairly close. Since my KS tags don't expire until November, I have not yet had an MA inspection done. The only thing that would have prevented this from passing would have been the crack in the windshield, so that's been replaced. Lastly, I have a loan from the Topeka Police Credit Union on this vehicle, so they have my title until the loan is paid. I can have them mail the title directly to the buyer. You can email me on here, or you can call/text me (email/text preferred) at 617 seven eight five 6381. I typically work Monday-Friday, but I could show the vehicle before 8am, after 7pm, or anytime on the weekends. NINJA EDIT: Putting pictures up now! These are from last year, since I don't have any daylight left at this point to take new ones. Jeep is in the same condition, but higher miles (Topeka to Boston does that) and the cigerette lighter has been swapped out for a newer one that doesn't quite fit in the dash (I have the orig one if you want to put it back, the contacts just need a good scrubbing). Oh and that factory stereo is long gone, there is a MUCH nicer unit in place now. 16. The look is personal preference. Looks better than steelies for sure! Finding a nice wheel to fit the 2wd MJ's can be a tough. Near impossible to find a wheel with a hub bore ID big enough to accomodate the lip on the hub and the dust cover over the end of the axel. Then when you do find one, the offset pushes the wheel waayyyy outside the flare. The 10 hole Eliminator wheel has a big enough hub bore, but they're only 6 or 7".
  17. Must be an echo.
  18. http://comancheclub.com/topic/40569-all-sorts-of-goodness-colorado/ There's a harness here.
  19. There it is. :agree:
  20. "Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured ... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen." Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are a citizen." ~Ben Stein~
  21. Probably the track bar if you have a bump steer going on. I would wait for some more feedback from the community. I replaced mine and it was like driving a new vehicle.
  22. Recentering wheels is soooooo far beyond me, but then, I don't want to get my MJ dirty either. That's just me. Haven't got the budget to trash my truck in the woods or on the trail. However, when I die, someone will get a super clean truck to do with whatever they wish. As for my choice of wheel, I think the Rubicon Moab 16X8 wheel looks great on the MJ, and I run Bridgestone Dueller 265/70/16's without any clearance issues. I have aftermarket OEM style 15X8 Ravine knock offs on my XJ and run the classic BFG TA 275/60/15. They'll rub in the front if I turn it to the stops. Both buggies have completely stock suspensions.
  23. Cool beans. I'm the 4th owner of my present MJ. I have nearly all the service records and other documentation, including the window sticker. Where do you think they hid the "build sheet"?
