  1. So... I work with the wife of the guy who owns the Pit Stop body shop. Small world, huh? When and where sir?
  2. Don, you going to be the guinea pig for the LWB folks? lol If so, I'd love to see your writeup.
  3. Nice... Now us LWB folks need to conjure up a way to install it on our rigs.
  4. You'd be correct in the assumption since the bed portion of the Comanche is a true frame where as on the ZJ it's all unibody. Frame stiffners would be a must and some level of reinforcement in the back of the "cab" on your ZJ would be a good idea. As to how to do that... I don't know since I'm not a welder and don't really know how to go about something like that.
  5. Awesome... definitely want to see this. :wrench:
  6. Please do, because I'd like to see how it can be done... Rear anti sway bar is off of my XJ but I think it would be useful on the MJ.
  7. AX5 is found behind the 2.8. Not a spectacular manual trans, but is adequate for the lack of power and torque you'll see from that craptastic GM V6.
  8. Yes, it does. I actually used a '90 XJ as my donor for my 4.0 swap in my '86 MJ. I swapped the HVAC box and dash. Everything is swappable, bolt for bolt.
  9. Seriously? Why is that?
  10. I'm at a loss man...
  11. Just like the title says, I'm looking for a front drive shaft. Needs to come from an MJ/XJ that has/had an AX15. I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg. I have one for an AW4 equipped MJ/XJ that I'd be willing to trade if you're in need of that. Thanks... Shawn
  12. Another upside-down grille... $%&@!*)#+!!!!! But get it... $500 is a steal, even if it doesn't run.
  13. I second what Impulse just said. Sorry, my first comment was not helpful. Also, I'd like to add... Are you able to put it in and out of all the gears while the engine is off?
  14. First problem, it's a Peugeot.
  15. I just took a quick glance under my 16 gal equipped LWB and with standard diameter shocks, there's about an inch and a half of wiggle room between the bent flange of the tank and the shock... I think it will hit with the fatter Load Levelers.
  16. Well, I read from here that people suggest either Mopar or Napa premium. However, I got mine before I learned that and mine was just the basic one from AutoZone... Hasn't failed me yet (knock on wood).
  17. Did you make sure the MAP sensor is getting proper vacuum? That was my issue when I fired up my engine after a swap. Also, Renix 2.5's are TBI, not MPFI, so I'm a little confused when you say '89 Renix MPFI 2.5L...
  18. There you go man... Good stuff. A new CPS is about $35 at the parts store, even the premium one I found was a $1.00 more.
  19. I, too, like the use of the spoilers for the same reason listed above.
  20. Well that sucks... lol. Perhaps being an '86 has something to do with it? All I know is that it's a 16 gal and it was on the truck when I bought it... Couldn't tell ya if they swapped it in at some point or if it was factory. Wasn't a bit rusty though after 28 years, so I dunno.
  21. Wait... so clearance will only be a problem on LWB MJ's for those with 23.5 gal tanks? I have a 16 gal tank... Will this pose an issue?
  22. When the funds are there, I will be getting a set for myself.
  23. All 2.5's from '86 - '90 are TBI and thus have the same intake manifold. It was in '91 that they went to MPFI. That's one thing I didn't like about my 2.5 when I had it. But if you ever do decide to swap in a 4.0L, let me know. That's what I did with my '86. The engine, harness, computer, etc. etc. all came from a '90 XJ. It was a lot of work, but well worth it IMO. I also had to swap in a suitable transmission because the AX4/5 can't be adapted to a 4.0L. Another, simpler option if you TBI craps out is to swap in everything from a '91+ MJ/XJ with the MPFI 2.5L. You won't have to mod the firewall or radiator support and you won't have to swap transmissions.
  24. Cut to the chase... http://comancheclub.com/topic/11232-project-onyx/?p=133012
  25. The only thing about this one that I don't like is that it takes some room away from the passenger...
