Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. bought a rebuilt sending unit from akula69[forum member] , a new gas tank from napa auto parts and i am using a bosch fuel pump. love the bosch pump it is super quiet. truck had an airtex pump before and it sounded like an airplane trying to take off lol
  2. if thats all the rust you have you are one lucky person!!
  3. do the gauge cluster just swap out or do you have to change any thing else? i have the idiot light cluster and want a full gauge cluster
  4. i think i may have a cracked exhaust manifold.the manifold for 87-90 is twice as much as the 91 + manifold. i have found some 91s that have flex joints built in.can you use a later manifold on the renix engine?
  5. ballast is good.fuel pump doesnt energize at all unless the orange/black stripe wire from the starter relay is wired to the fuse block.any ideas anybody?
  6. it has what appears to be a new ballast resistor but i will try to bypass it tomorrow. eagle.. that is what it does. it will actually run as long as you keep the key in start but as soon as you let off it dies. if the ballast is good are there any other possibilities? thanks
  7. sorry it is a 4.0.the orange wire marked f on the relay is the one pulled off and wired to the fuse box
  8. ok i have asked a few different questions as i work on this truck. my latest question involves the fuel pump wiring done by the previous owner.the wire that hooks to the starter relay to energize the fuel pump is pulled off and wired to the accessory on the fuse block. this works fine except the pump is running anytime the key is on. i hooked the wire back to the starter relay but the pump only works if the key is actually in start position. as soon as you let go of the key the pump stops. i can drive it like it is but i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas? thanks
  9. didnt see any mud or dirt in them but the guy i got it from did tell me he pressure washed the truck trying to get the flaking clear coat off so maybe he drowned them.anyway the horn works so i am happy
  10. found the other horn. turns out both horns are bad. tested them and they wouldnt work even straight wired.pulled the horn off my yj and put it on there and everything works.thanks for the help.this is the first time i have seen 2 horns bad at the same time.
  11. yea i am going to test the horn itself today. since i can hear the relay click then that would most likely be a horn or ground? i will clean the mount today and check the horn and let yall know.thanks
  12. i have only found one horn on passenger side. i don't know how long since the horn worked. i got the truck about 4 months ago and it has never worked. and it is the 2 spoke steering wheel
  13. the horn on my comanche doesnt work. when you press it you can hear the relay click. the horn is in place but doesnt work other than hearing the relay. any ideas on what to check? thanks
  14. thanks hornbrod i just sent him a pm
  15. oh well the hunt is on for a nice used one i guess
